compatibility with My traffic

Featured Replies

Is there any issue in using RCV3 with My traffic AI? will AI flights and aircrafts be recognized by ATC?Thanks in advance,Herve.

My Traffic is handled the same way the default MS_ATC traffic is handled. Radar Contact will see AI traffic in the air but not on the ground. There is a section in the RCv3 manual discussing how to use MS_ATC(including My Traffic) and Radar Contact together. Please read over the section "Using FS2002 ATC and Radar Contact together" beginning on page 107 of the RCv3 manual

I am led to believe that there will be some additional recognition of AI in RC 3.1 when released. I trust at that point My Traffic, the upcoming Ultimatte Traffic, and similar apps will offer some interfacing in approach and departure stages of flights.Does anyone yet have an idea of a very rough target release date?

JD and Doug have not set a release date. When they are happy with it they will release it. Our policy has always been "Quality not Calendar".

I'm not sure what you mean by that, but MyTraffic and, I believe, Ultimate Traffic are only changing the data files defining the number and types of AI aircraft that you encounter. They don't do anything during runtime.

Basicly, RC v3.01 does not "see" anything other than enroute AI. I understand or at least hope that 3.1 in its partial recognition of ground traffic and hope fully approach and departure aircraft will hold you short of the runway unless there are no aircraft on final within collision distance or allow take-off too close to another departing unit. One of the staff mentioned that if you are approaching it will recognize other aircraft preceding you and I think offer a go-around or change of runway. My reference to third party traffic managers was that they hopefully will use standard FS AI interfacing management so RC can achieve these goals.
