is the pressure changing? are you running 3.01?jd

Yes the pressure is changing, but I might get the same altimeter advice before I get a different one and yes Im using 3.01Bart

you may want to try setting the pressure smoothing numbers in fsuipc. see if that helps.whenever the pressure changes more than .04 inches of mercury, you will get an altimeter callyou will get an altimeter call if you are not at your assigned altitude (just a little reminder to check :-)you will also get an altimeter call every 100 miles.it's possible that you get a pressure change, and at a 100 mile increment, and thus will get 2 calls for the same pressurejd

Hi I have the same problem, altimeter calls every few minutes. I understand if the pressure changes but on a flight from EGGD to EGPF I had 6 calls all with the same reading in about 50nm. Another issue is STD. In the UK as you know we use 6000ft as transitional altitude and this is the figure that always appears in the 'controller info'trans level dialog box after the plan has been entered in RC3.01. It has never altered since it was set when first installed and appears as 60. At 6000ft I hear the co pilot 'altitude check' and I set the guage to STD, 1013hpa or 29.92 depending on which airframe I am in. I am constantly told that I have busted my altitude and to have a word with Bill thingy from FISDO (must be an American thing). Everytime this happens I am above UK transition. but below US transition altitude.I also get the same co pilot saying 'altitude check' at 18000ft (probably to be sure I done it the first time)I have now given up and work on 18000ft, even though the trans lev setting is 60 (6000ft. Apart from that niggle I think it is brillient and is a great improvement over RCv2 and if the VFR pilots out there moan then get them to get just flights UK Photorealistic VFR scenery....its a real pleasure to fly over.Mike British Airways Virtual Capt.

I think I have just sorted the problem. Thanks

does that mean you figured it out?

Sure JD,After a careful search on past topics I noticed the deliberate mistake. Transition level was set at 60 but 180 for centre. Still reckon its a brillient piece of software and I would prefer to use Radar Contact than VATSIM. You dont get turn onto final with 3 miles to go in a B747 with Radar Contact. You can ask for one.Mikehttp://jdtllc.com/images/RCsupporter.jpg

Hi ThereI get altimeter calls every 10 miles when operating below the transition level and have been unable to find the cause. Checking through the forum for an answer I found a similar situation had been queried before. In my case, there is no apparent pressure change and I have applied maximum smoothing in FSUIPC. I am using RC 3.01 (with the transition level set at 180) and Active Sky 1.8. The problem did not seem to be apparent with RC 3.0.Any help would be appreciated.Cheers
