Hi Last night i decided to fly a long haul from EGLL to KLAX. Most of the flight was good until i arrived at KLAX. I was vectored to land at 24L as that was the runway mentioned in the ATIS report. The first strange thing that happened was that the heading i was given took me way out over the pacific. After sometime i requested that i land at 7L and permission was given,followed all the instructions and landed ok. What i would like to know is why i was given a heading that after sometime took me no where near 24L,and then when i was on finals for 7L all other traffic was lining up to take off from 7L.
