May 21, 200323 yr I'm curious to know if it is normal procedure for ATC to issue intructions to a pilot to climb to "Flight level XX" (which RC3 does) vice using "XX Thousand" while below transition altitude.Regards,Nick Anzelino
May 21, 200323 yr Commercial Member you wouldn't say 19,000 - if your transition level is 180 regardless of what altitude your plane is at. listen to clearance delivery. he doesn't say "...expect 23,000...", but rather "...FL230..."jd JD Read my blog
May 22, 200323 yr I agree 100% with you, however ATC does say "Climb and maintain FL06 expect FL100 10 minutes after departure"Nick
May 22, 200323 yr Commercial Member then you have your transition level set to 60 (fl060) or below. if your transition level was set to 180 (fl180) the statement would read "climb and maintain 6000 expect 10,000"all depends on the settings on the controller's pagejd JD Read my blog
