traffic through RC3

Featured Replies

hello pells, there are curently on the market three traffic AI softwares:Ultimate Traffic,FS2002 Traffic and MyTraffic.which of them is interact with RC3 so RC can "see" the traffic and can give the proper instruction?

MS never has, and probably never will, release an AI/ATC SDK, so RC will probably never be able to interact with AI.The best RC can do is tell you about them, and give you go-arounds or hold shorts if AI is on the runway, or tell you about them in the air if they are in your path.

But not until RC 3.1 is released will it recognize AI pattern traffic and take appropriate action with you, not AI, if I understand JD's comments correctly.I use a TCAS gauge, part of Reality-XP's JL-2 package, where AI traffic (only transponder equipped, of course) is displayed very nicely on the EHSI. It only shows targets within a certain vertical range, their relative altitude (to you), climbing, decending, or level state. It also has the option of advising vertical manuevers when within a harzardous range.I know you guys are gonna' boot me off here for restating this, but while I know RC can not vector the AI, I sure wish perhaps within certain parameters JD would reconsider and vector RC advised aircraft around them so I don't have to get spanked by ATC for evasive enroute manuevers. Don't want to fly NOTAMS enroute.Think of all the stuff in the air going to be around for those installing Ultimate Traffic.

thanks Ronzie,I've made my choice and it's gonna be ultimate traffic, have a safe flights.

hi scotty,I apreciate the help and actually if RC can say anything about the traffic around us,it's better than nothing so for sim purposes it's enoughf for me.ofcourse I would prefere full realisem but that's what we got for now.thanks again and have safe flights.

I do not have the UT package yet, but on their first forum it was stated that some kind of TCAS gauge was included. I am not sure which it is.There are a few freeware ones available as well and I do not want to take space here to go through the differences. It depends on the type of aircraft you fly which will be most appropriate for your needs.Right now using default AI for testing, I fly under NOTAMS for departure and approach and vary speed or descent keeping a watchful eye on AI. The improvements with RC3.1 are announced as taking care of some ground and pattern conflict problems.
