July 1, 200322 yr I took 3.1 for a spin tonight and was having a heck of a time with it. Every time after initial contact with the controller I would get no controller voice - just the 7/CS option in the advdisp. When I completed the flight, I got bawled out for not listening!I was running in /realtime mode - could this be the cause?System:Pentium IV 3 GHz1 Gb DDR memoryATI Radeon 9800 ProSoundBlaster Audigy II-david-
July 1, 200322 yr Did you download and install the additional wav files listed in JDs announcement message? How many files do you have in folders 2-12? There should be 1134 in each folder. Also check folders 11 and 12. If you have not downloaded those 2 additional controllers from Scott's Flight Deck you will only have a few files in those folders. You do not need to use the command line switch /realtime anymore. JD changed the way the wav files are played to automatically play realtime.
July 1, 200322 yr Besides checking the number of files, do you have pilot auto-reply checked? I think it defaults to off. 7 means to acknowledge.
July 1, 200322 yr I have downloaded and installed all three voice updates. I am confused about your question Scott. Why would auto-reply affect the controller talking to me? Shouldn't I hear the controller's instructions and then hear the auto-reply? BTW: I don't use auto-reply, that's why the options were 7 - acknowledge and CS - say again.-david-
July 1, 200322 yr 2-10 have 1135 files (1 is a text file)11 has 4 and 12 has 1.I'm going to remove the /realtime and see what happens.Thanks!-david-
July 1, 200322 yr Commercial Member realtime has nothing to do with it. you need to download the full package of controller #11 and controller #12ORdelete the 4 in 11 and 1 in 12jd JD Read my blog
July 4, 200322 yr I don't quite get this. I too have an infrequent problem with controller voices; it can be either the initial request by the controller or a response to my request but the controller speech is simply missing! I recently re-installed RC3.0, then DL'd the 3.1 beta, finally installed the WAV packs 1-3 from Scotts site.Any hints anyone?Cheers all,Paulhttp://www.strontiumdog.plus.com/sbird.jpgOfficially licenced by British Airways plc for use of name and logo[p]AMD 2800+ Barton, Gigabyte GA-7NNXP nForce2, 1Gig PC3200 Dual Channel DDR 400MHz, Gainward 128 MB GF4-4200, SB Audigy[/p]
July 5, 200322 yr Did you install the 3 optional pilot voices (88-90) and 2 optional controller voices 11 and 12? You can get those on Scott Campbell's Flight Deck http://avsim.com/flightdeck/radarcontact.html.How many files do you have in folders 2-12? You should have 1134 files.
July 5, 200322 yr OK thanks Rick. I've the requisite 1134 in 2-11 but only 1 in "12" (turn.wav) Folders 88-90 are empty.I'll do as you suggest - thanks again!Cheers,Paulhttp://www.strontiumdog.plus.com/sbird.jpgOfficially licenced by British Airways plc for use of name and logo[p]AMD 2800+ Barton, Gigabyte GA-7NNXP nForce2, 1Gig PC3200 Dual Channel DDR 400MHz, Gainward 128 MB GF4-4200, SB Audigy[/p]
