July 1, 200322 yr I'm interested to get Radar contact3 for ultimate realism in flying experiance, but since FS2004 with it's "enhanced ATC system" is on the horizon, so I doubt is the FS2004 ATC be as good as radar contact? As far as I know Radar contact can not communicate with AI aircrafts (and vice versa) yet, so I thought IF I buy it now maybe I have to pay for their upgrade later to make it FS2004 compatible, or yet for their addition features mentioned above. July 1, 200322 yr Commercial Member microsoft has stated previously what their atc enhancements are. we'll see if they made it into the released version.regardless, radar contact has been doing most of their "enhancements" since version 1.i guess we will all have to wait and see, just how good ms atc is, and how close it comes to radar contact.jd JD Read my blog
July 1, 200322 yr From what I've heard, not very. RC still has a myriad more features, some logical that MS doe not incorporate - like alternates and emergencies and changr of detination. RC's handling is still better overall.
July 3, 200322 yr It would be nice but I'm betting Microsoft is still more interested in "eye candy" than realism in FS. The FS ATC hasn't shown much chang in release after release. I had completely given up on trying full IFR until I found out about, and bought, Radar Contact. It may notbe perfect yet, but it still leaves FS ATC miles behind.
July 7, 200322 yr FS2004 ATC has change of destination included and it also has switch from VFR to IFR and v.v. on the fly. And all this including ground and AI awareness. Plus it's fully integrated in FS2004 (i.e. no extra program and modules running).I also have RC3 and I've always loved it, but as it stands for now RC3 has a long way to go to beat FS2004's ATC, IMHO.GreetingsStephan
July 8, 200322 yr Only MS beta testers know-but I doubt it will even be in the same league.73sAshleyhttp://jdtllc.com/images/RCbeta.jpg
