RC3.1 Beta Crashes on Startup

Featured Replies

I downloaded/copied the Beta files into the RC3 folder. Copied the update waves into their respective folders. I start 3.01 up and it runs fine. I start up 3.1 Beta and it crashes - I get the standard "XXX has encountered a problem ..." I have just completed a install from the CD and upgraded to 3.01. It works. I installed 3.1 Beta - still crashes.Help! :-(-michael

when you unzipped the 3.1 files, did you overwrite files as necessary?jd

>when you unzipped the 3.1 files, did you overwrite files as>necessary?>>jdYes, several times, several independent downloads, etc, etc...However, the problem is gone. Guess what the problem was ...Rcv31.exe will not start if it is in a folder called Radar Contact. When I installed into a new folder with the name Radar Contact - Test Install, it worked. I just deleted the old folder (that was not working) and changed the name of the working folder to Radar Contact - and it does not work. This was not an issue in Rcv3.exeNow, out of curiousity - do you have any idea what is going on - why the executable does not like the name Radar Contact as the folder name?-michael

maybe, since there is a space in the path, you would need quotes around the startup path?
