July 14, 200322 yr I downloaded Version 3.1 Beta and unzipped to windowsrcv30 folder and over-wrote all files. Now the exe file for Version 3.01 doesn't work any more and the Version 3.1 wont accept the registration key. I moved the rcv30 file to windowsrcv30 way back in order to get Version 3.0 to work in the "fast mode" as I remember it. I can't remember where the rcv30 file was originally installed. Does the location or name of the rcv30 file matter when upgrading to Version 3.1? If so where should I relocate rcv30 to make this work? I saved the Version 3.01 to another disk and the exe for it still works.RichR
July 14, 200322 yr The default installation location for Radar Contact is Program FilesRCv30.Version 3.0, 3.01 and 3.1 (beta) should be in the same folder. Try putting them in your working version 3.01 folder. If your key is not accepted just send your Product ID code to [email protected] and request a new key.
July 14, 200322 yr I find Version 3.0, 3.01 and 3.1(beta) in the same folder WindowsRcv30. I searched my EMail and found a more recent registration code and installed it to Version 3.1 and it seems to work. However both exe files for Versions 3.0 and 3.01 bring up inactive screens. Is this correct?I seem to have a problem with so many passwords and registration codes. Thanks for the prompt reply.RichR
July 14, 200322 yr That is very strange. All 3 should work with the same key. Look at the Product ID code (number in red) just to the right of the Register button in 3.0, 3.01 and 3.1(beta). It should be the same number.
July 14, 200322 yr I had a problem with the beta if my RC directory contained numbers. You might try taking the "30" out of your directory name and see if that does anything. Bryan OpalkaNoble Air - Americas Region
July 15, 200322 yr I thank those who replied. I found that by installing the correct registration number to the Version 3.1 it started to work, and for some reason, the other versions became active as well. I need to try out some flights to see if all is well. The version 3.01 was working so well that I hesitated to upgrade.RichR
