Has the free flight startup behavior changed? Since the SU5 update, I no longer see the Shift+C overlay, and I now have to right click with my mouse and then do the Shift+C to get to the flight deck. Just curious.

At the moment, using the MSFS planner is only for VFR.

I'm not near my flight computer at the moment, but if I remember correctly, you choose the aircraft, click on configure, and then you can select the livery? It has been a while since I have done this, so hopefully this is close. I do remember that in 2024 it is not very intuitive.

SU16 is released? I thought it was still in beta?

@psolk The reason I asked was that was a thought on what the culprit might be. In addition to the forced update, I also grabbed CU10 (and two WU updates that were listed in my content manager).

I think in the long thread on the MSFS forum, even folks with an empty Community folder experienced this issue as well. Did you install the CU 10?

The link to the forum post that talked about the issue (and possible fixes) was literally right above my reply so didn't think I needed to specify. Plus, I had removed the file/fixed the issue last summer so wasn't top of mind. If you had taken the time to read the referenced forum item, you would see that file was "…\Packages\Official\OneStore\fs-base-coverage-map-us2-tin". Just a note I do NOT have the Imaginesim KDFW. However, was having issues with blurry textures and a generally unusable KDFW prior to removing the file.

I just removed the file which made DFW usable without having to disable PG.

I guess I will hold off on updating AIRAC for now. Is it just the MSFS base package to avoid updating or also the PMDG AIRAC as well?

There needs to be an "other" option. I use a mix of co-pilot, voice, and buttons as needed. So, none of the four choices listed are accurate for my usage.

When I got BATC when it first came out, I found a microphone (HyperX Solocast) on sale at Micro Center for about $20. It has worked quite well. I mostly use auto respond, but there are some places where I need to make the request, so use the mike for those times to avoid pushing buttons.

Maybe you accidentally read the MSFS2020 ideal spec? Ideal was 32 for MSFS2020.

KDFW is still broken... especially the east side of the field. The only known solution of which I am aware is to turn off photogrammetry.

However, I find that you still need to occasionally reply even when using auto reply. For example, when ready for taxi after engine start, when ready for departure after switching to tower, and taxi to gate after landing. So, I would call it "nearly set and forget". 😂

Didn't you read the screens during the purchase process that said essentially that? I can recall at least two screens (prior to actually making the purchase) that warned that the software was early access and to expect bugs. It is also clearly stated on their website.

I am running ASE SP3 for FS9 using WideFS. When I do a reload AI traffic it seems to decrease the sim time by 10 minutes. Why would refreshing the traffic in ASE touch my FS time?

John, Do you have any update on the hotel room rate? I probably need to make my final decision on whether or not to still fly out to IAD that weekend by the end of August. I would like to be able to factor the hotel cost before I take the $150 hit for the cancel fee on the ticket. Also, since there is hasn't been any mention of the cancellation on the main page for quite a while, you might want to sticky that topic on the main AVSIM page in case there are folks who have not yet seen that announcement.

Really? Before the FANCON forum was removed I thought I had read a post (from a staff member) that nearly all of the allocated hotel rooms had been booked... and that the tone of that post was upbeat about the conference. This led me to believe that the FANCON was looking good to be a go and I proceeded to book my airline ticket, as I found a decent deal on airfare. It could be that folks booked the rooms and were waiting to hear more details of the conference events before registering. Also, as others have said, since the last FANCON was cancelled, many were probably a bit gunshy to commit early.I agree that it would have been nice to receive an email about the cancellation... as I had recently registered. The announcement has already fallen off from the headlines, so had I not seen it this weekend I might have missed the news. It would also be nice to learn when refunds can be expected and if the hotel will honor the booked AVSIM rate if we decide to still travel to IAD for that weekend. At the moment I am 50/50 on whether I will just eat the change fee on the air tickets and cancel the entire trip.

Dan,I did some additional pokiing around and it looks like on the 800 then panel.cfg file has the updated comment rather than the aircraft.cg. DIdn't see any updated comments in any of cfg files for the 900. The plane flies, so I am hoping that I am all good.Thanks,
