July 26, 200322 yr Greetings All, I recently upgraded to RCV3.1 Installed all the new controller wavs ect.. did several flights and everything was working just fine. After upgrading to build 2178 I started experiencing a problem of losing all pilot, controller speech or chatter. Usually it happens sometime after contacting ground at the departure airport. Strangely enough, I can get some of the wavs to play if I switch tasks or minimize the FS window! I still get engine sounds and the proper text is displayed in the Advdisp window in response to my key inputs, I just don't get any pilot or controller speech. Thinking it was some kind of snafu, I upgraded to the latest build along with the latest advdisp and FSUIPC. Still having the same problem. Can somebody help?ThanksRPM.
July 27, 200322 yr Commercial Member how many files in 11 and 12?directories winwood2 - winwood12 should all have the same number of filesif less than 1000, you need to download the 11.zip and 12.zip mentioned in the "pinned" post at the top JD Read my blog
July 27, 200322 yr JD, 11/12 both have 1,134 files. 2,3,4,6,7,8,9,10 have 1,135. 5 has 1,136. I don't think this is the problem since RC was working fine before I upgraded to build 2178.Thanks,RPM.
July 27, 200322 yr Commercial Member well i have to ask the questions that usually are the highest probability of being the source of the problem :-)are you executing rcv31.exe by double clicking the .exe in explorer, or by shortcut. if by shortcut, what does the command line look like?what is your sound card?is it always the same controller (voice not function) that drops out?jd JD Read my blog
July 27, 200322 yr JD, I am executing RC by desktop shortcut("C:Program Filesrcv30rcv31.exe"). Sound card is a SB live I have it set at 7 for maximum simultaneous wave files. I can't tell whether or not it's the same controller since it happens most of the time between hand-off from departure ground to tower. Thanks,RPM.
July 27, 200322 yr JD, I think I've found the problem. The above behavior only occurs when using the DC-8-62 from Historic Jetliners Group along with their panel. There are several custom sounds and communications that play during engine startup and pushback ect... I guess these are somehow interfering with RC. Maybe you could look into this as it is an outstanding aircraft and panel combo, plus I would hate to have to make a 4600 mile flight without a co-pilot ;-) Thanks,RPM
