August 5, 200322 yr I`m sure this has been asked before, but the search facility wasn`t very helpful.I was told off for busting my altitude level. I checked and it was spot on. I got busted again. This happened several times, even though I was spot on the altitude given.Any help, please?cheerscrashproof
August 5, 200322 yr Commercial Member are you setting your altimeter to 29.92 when you go above the transition level (defaults to 180)?and are you resetting the altimeter to local pressure when you go below the tranistion levelthe lovely co-pilot is there to remind you, by saying "altimeter check" when you need to do somethingjd JD Read my blog
August 6, 200322 yr JD, your absolutely right - she did say altimeter check. My only excuse is that I haven`t used FS and RC for a while.Guess that means a box of chocolates and a bunch of flowers for her. (So much cheaper in the virtual world!)Many thanks.crashproof
August 6, 200322 yr JD, I`m ashamed to admit I don`t know what to do about an altimeter check. I have read your documentation and can`t find a reference to it. I`m flying PIC767 btw.Can you advise please?crashproof
August 6, 200322 yr Our co-pilot is telling you to set the altimeter to 29.92 when you cross the transition level which is 18,000 ft. When you are decending change the altimeter to what the controller tells you when you go below 18,000. If you fly in Europe the transition level will be different.
