December 11, 200322 yr Thanks for the answer to my first set of questions, here are a couple more.I like to take some longer flights across the country and I do not like to have to sit here and manage the radios the whole way. Does the copilot feature of RC handle the radios automatically so I can run to the store if I need to? I would be flying the PMDG or PSS jets so LNAV and VNAV would be controlled by the aircraft.I thought I read somewhere that the RC controller might vector you into a mountain, it said something like the controller did not have any terrain clearance info. Is this true? I almost get vectored into a mountain every time the FS9 controller is guiding me and I am hoping that this program is a bit better.Once I order how long does it take to receive the product? Is it shipped UPS, FedEx or what? Is there an option to get quicker delivery because I have a huge patience problem and would like to get it the next day after I order it!!!:-) Thanks,Kevin
December 11, 200322 yr Commercial Member yes, you have the option of turning the controls and/or the radios over to "otto" the co-pilot. on airplanes with builtin autopilots (ones that don't use the ms autopilot controls), otto cannot fly the plane.in v3.1, i've added a field for every airport, which is the highest point within 20 miles of the airport. you will never be descended below that altitude, except on final. but the possibility still exists that you will be vectored into a mountain. right now, the only ground elevation i know, is the elevation of the ground directly below the airplane. doesn't do you much good with the mountain in front of you.depending on where you live, it takes 7-10 days for delivery. and with the christmas rush, no guarantees. rick handles the shipping, he can answer any shipping questions for you.jd JD Read my blog
December 11, 200322 yr Even though Jamie can't fly the PMDG plane, I do believe she does fine on comms. So if you turn off traffic vectors in RC, and hand comms over to Jamie, then you should have no problems leaving. If you also set a "Pause on Distnace" value, then you don't need to return to land until you're ready.I spend a lot of time NOT flying because RC turns FS into a passenger simulator. As JD says, with the MSA feature in 3.1, RC won't lower you below the highest point around the airport.
