February 2, 200422 yr For the second or third time since running RC I got what sounded like all the random chatter run quickly together which went on for about a minute and then finally ended. It sounds like snippets played over previous snippets and not complete phrases. At one point I heard, in different voices, "Ground, Grou, Ground, Ground, Ground, Ground, Grou, Groun..."Then for the first time in my flight to Newark tonight, I passed a checkpoint and got the beep to just keep beeping until I forced it off by leaving the freq for weather.I also would like to find out if it wouldn't be possible for you to store an array where you keep the most current valid directives and just have the pilot roger only that. For example, tonight I got, in quick succession, "Fly heading 330. Fly heading 020. Fly heading 060. Descend and maintain 9,000."So my reply was to roger each of those when clearly all I needed to say was "Fly heading 060, descend and maintain 9,000, roger."
February 2, 200422 yr Commercial Member was it around midnight when the repetitive chatter occurred?i have never heard or seen a report of repeated ding. sound card drivers up to date?what do you have your chatter slider set for?jd JD Read my blog
February 2, 200422 yr It could have very well been around midnight though I was pretty sure I've heard this during the day as well. The sound card drivers are fairly up-to-date.Chatter is set at 5.For the record, today I had my second or third complete lockup of RC. Flying into JFK, I got vectored for 22L (first time I've ever been on 22) and had to go much further north than usual. I got descended from 14,000 to 8,000 and that was the last I heard from RC. The AdvDisp was still there offering to let me do a few things but no key would register with it.
