Normal to hear default ATC with Radar Contact?

Featured Replies

Hey all, I love Radar Contact. I've been using it for a few days now and I'm really enjoying it. I have a question though. I created a new flight in the hopes that I would not hear the default FS2004 ATC while using RC. But I'm still hearing default ATC. I even have ATC turned off in the sim. Is it normal to still hear default ATC? I did create my flight plan in FS2004 and exported it into RC upon startup. Could this be why? Maybe I'm just an idiot but as I said I have default ATC turned off in the sim. Thanks for any replies. Bob

It's using Comm1, but FS9 ATC also wants to use Comm1 by default, so when RC tunes in a ATC freq you'll start hearing the FS9 ATC broadcasts. Fix is to go into the plane's comm panel and set Comm2 as the active radio, then tune Comm2 to something unlikely to be used by FS9 ATC, like 121.5. If you don't have a second radio it's easy to add one with the instructions in the RC user's guide.Mark Kuebeler

if you don't want to hear ms atc, just diable the atc sounds under options, soundsjd

Nah, too simple. :) Seriously, thanks, I did not know you could do that.Mark Kuebeler

Disabling in FS under sounds does not work for me as I stated in my original message. But thanks for the suggestion anyway. I'll try the other suggestion about the com radios. Bob
