February 2, 200521 yr Hey John and the rest.Don't know if you remember me mentioning that i have had problems with the sound (chatter) for a long time. It started to stutter and almost horrifying to listen to.Well - it's over. For a couple of years i've also been using FSRealtime and lately is has caused more and more problems, so today i stopped using it. Since i could see that the graphics improved dramatically i thought - maybe it caused my problems with the sound in RC, so i increased the amount of chatter to 3/4 (which was impossible before) and i made a 3 hours long flight with no stuttering at all. :-)Have spoken with Joshua from FSrealtime and he is aware of the problem.
February 3, 200521 yr Commercial Member glad to hear it.troubleshooting is hard, and sometimes you stumble onto the problem by accident.when i have a problem, i remove all possible causes, and bring my machine or software to a known state, and then i add things back, one at a time. it's amazing what unrelated "add-on" can have an affect on something else.keep it simple, is my motto. i like vanilla.jd JD Read my blog
February 8, 200521 yr You are indeed right, John. Though i of course have some more than Microsoft had in mind, i do try to keep it as simple as possible. I especially avoid installing scenery, as it's my experience that this can keep one awfully busy. Also the simulator itself is detailed enough in my mind. I want the fun in the air, not spending my time parked somewhere in the airport watching the buildings and other aircrafts.. heheThat i used FS Realtime is solely Microsofts fault. They don't really know how to solve the problem with timezones and daylight saving hours. Amazing actually when FS Realtime can. And then in my wildest imagination i couldn't imagine it was the cause. However - after it has been removed i still have a perfect sound. Now - i just like everyone else here - waits for vers 4.x of RC. Really hope it has an effect on the AI planes, so one can land without all these go-arounds. That i at least understand you have in mind. I btw don't do any go-arounds anymore, as it's out of control. It's in 98% of the landings you are told to do so - inches about the runway. My God - if it was so in real life i would never fly again ... LOL
