The left Column, headed KDSM (Departure), on the Controller Info page in my Manual does NOT include an option called MSA. However it DOES appear on the bottom of the list on my screen with the figure 4700 next to it.What is this please?Cliff

you will never be cleared below this value. without getting into the code, it is the highest point within 20 miles of the airport, plus 1000.you can change this value, to match what the airport plate has for it's MSA.the msa that is default is a calculation. i didn't have a good source for each airports msajd
