December 13, 200520 yr I ordered RC4 over the weekend, and am anxiously awaiting delivery.Looking at the RC4 screenshots in the tutorial for the KDSM-KORD flight, I note that RC4 uses the real-world frequencies for the two airports for Clearance Delivery, Tower, Departure etc.Checking the FS2004 airport database via FSNav, I see that the default MSFS ATC also uses the very same real-world frequencies for both airports. In anticipation of the RC4 release, I recently purchased Ultimate Traffic, specifically to populate the skies and airports with as much real-world AI traffic as possible for any given day and time.Obviously, none of those U.T. AI aircraft will appear unless the FS9 traffic simulation is enabled. It is my intention to use RC4's AI interaction capability. What will happen, therefore, when I tune to ATIS, Delivery, Ground etc., considering that RC4 and FS9 default ATC both use the same frequencies? Will I hear both the RC4 and FS9 ATIS broadcasts simultaneously? While in the taxi, listening to ground, would I hear both RC4 and FS9's ground controllers talking to the same AI flights? What I'm asking is: how would I turn off FS9's ATC, without turning off the traffic simulation and losing all the U.T AI?I'm a long-time user of MSFS, and fly online with VATSIM often, but this is my first venture into using AI and built-in ATC functions, so I'm not very familiar with how MSFS traffic functions work. Thanks!Jim Barrett Jim BarrettLicensed Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic, Avionics, Electrical & Air Data Systems Specialist. December 13, 200520 yr Hi Jim,There are two ways of doing this. You can turn off the atc in the FS settings _ sound.Or you can select com 2 on the radio panel. The ms atc will then use the frequency tuned to com 2 while RC continues to use the frequency tuned on com 1.All the best,John
December 13, 200520 yr Author Thanks for the info. I'll try both options - turning off sound and selecting Com 2.Jim Barrett Jim BarrettLicensed Airframe & Powerplant Mechanic, Avionics, Electrical & Air Data Systems Specialist.
