Otto question

Featured Replies

I can't seem to get Otto to take control of the plane. He handles COMS ok and acknowledges he has control but then just doesn't seem to control the planes heading. I don't use him until after departure. This occurs with Flight1's ATR. I have the A/P on HDG Hold, EFIS on V/L, and do not use the FMC. Any help would be appreciated...I haven't tried it with other planes but will...Thanks

Hi,RC can only control the aircraft using the MS standard autopilot.I believe the authors of the aircraft use their own version of the autopilot and RC cannot contol it at present. The same is true for other Flight1/dreamfleet titles including the Baron, although ditch the Sandell and use the KI525 and this aircraft is then RC controllable. In brief:RC only controls autopilots coded to MS standardsBest WishesAshley Sear(G4MGD-Licensed since 1981)http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannerbeta.jpg

Ashley,Thanks..I read that and was afraid that might be the case. I wonder why Flight1/Dreamfleet are listed in the "tested with" list then.Regards,Peter

the planes are tested with, but not the co-pilot. i suppose i'll update the webpage to indicate that the rc co-pilot won't work with this plane or thatjd

Hi,It is a per aircraft/Panel basis, these are the ones I personally have tried (as best as I remember):Flight1/DreamfleetMeridian=NoC421=YesC310=YesBonanza=YesBaron (Sandell)=NoBaron (KI525)=YesFSD C115=YesCheyenne=YesAvanti Advanced AP=NoAvanti Standard AP=YesNavajo=YesSeneca=YesThis is done from memory,I can't guarantee it is 100% accurate or up to date.As publishers do more things to get around MS limitations I think things are more likely to diverge, however OTTO is not in my opinion the raison d'etre for RC and he doesn't limit my choice of airframe I tend to go with the best flight dynamics and also have absolutely no inerest in the visual model-just like a fair representation of it. jd/Ashley..Thanks again...I do have/use all the FSD a/c, except the Avanti, and the ATR, C421 and Dakota from Flight1/Dreamfleet. Otto not controlling the ATR is not a major issue just a nicety. Maybe Otto could learn.."No can do, Boss" instead of "I got it" when he really doesn't... ;<)BTW .. Does Otto know how to use the RelaityXP gauges?Regards,Peter

Hi,I think the Reality GNS530/GNS430/WX500 are Ok but the Sandell 3308 is what causese the problem in the Baron. The Simflight GNS430/530 gauges are all Ok as well.I can only comment on what I actually own so others may/may not work.Best WishesAshley Sear(G4MGD-Licensed since 1981)http://www.jdtllc.com/images/rcv4bannerbeta.jpg
