repeated handoffs of AI

Featured Replies

Hi RC team,so far, I'm delighted by RC4, really a very nice add-on!I noticed in my last flight (from Denver to Dulles, using the PMDG 747-400, just to check out some of the "bugs" reported in their forum) that many times (at least a dozen if not more) I heard the controller call an AI flight to contact another Center, heard the AI plane answer correctly, then, less then one minute after, the Controller telling again the same AI flight (same airline/flight number) to check with another Center frequency, again the AI plane responding correclty and again the Controller calling for yet another frequency change and so on and on for at least 10 minutes. This happened in the Cleveland and Washington Centers. This is not affecting my flight, nor spoiling my ATC experience but I'm curious to know what could be happening (I use only AI interation, no canned chatter, and Project AI files, traffic density set at 75 %).Thanks.

it's possible the plane is flying along a center boundary, and being switched from center a to center b to center a to center b to center.....you have good earsjd

Could be that those AI planes were just skimming the Centers' borders...And yes, I keep a wary ear on what the controller is saying, don't want to miss a call destined to me (it's out of habit, I'm used to listen to real world ATC radio)...if I really need to concentrate on other tasks (reprogramming the FMC, rechecking the flight plan, giving a look at the weather ahead), I give the comms to the copilot...

i've found a problem, where i'm clearing the ai that i've moved out of your way, and for them to resume own navigation, while on non-center frequencies. probably be fixed in 4.1, unless i can talk doug into sliding it into 4.01jd

Well, the repeated handoffs that I heard were always to AI planes not in my vicinity (that is not to be called for traffic by the controller), so the controller didn't tell them to resume own navigation. I'll let you know if it happens again in my next flights. Thanks a lot !
