How can this happen in RC

Featured Replies

I tried a RC session from Landvetter Sweden to Hamburg in the PMDG 737-800.At the very moment I was cleared for takeoff another plane landed just in front of me.I was cleared bty the tower to line up and I did some tasks before actually getting on the rwy? Maybe is it important to line without delay when told to do so? If I do can I count on having the rwy for myself when I'm cleared for takeoff?

You are supposed to have the aircraft ready for takeoff except possibly switching on landing lights , when cleared to taxi onto the runway. When cleared for takeoff, you should takeoff. There was probably an aircraft on a 3-4 mile final when they cleared you, and you waited too long. In real life, that would have caused either a go around for the landing craft, or you would have been told to exit the runway.

I was on Westjet Flight 213 from CYEG to CYYJ - the Westjet 737-700 was cleared onto the runway. Then something in the cabin required attention (moving a passenger for some reason) and the pilot could not take-off. We exited the runway because an Air Canada Jazz Dash 8 was already on short-final. The Dash 8 landed and then we regained the runway for take-off.
