RC4 and flying bricks

Featured Replies

A question ...if my wife should occasionally throw a brick at my head because she perceives that my favourite game is perhaps causing me to sometimes ignore her (and I have to save the flight and close FS) can RC4 be re-connected sucessfully and continue from the FS9 save point? If this is too tricky for the program I will consider getting a new wife.Thanks.

Writing this from memory and at work, so you

Hi There,If you save a flight while RC is running the RC state is automatically saved as well so you can start again from where you left off and domestic peace is assured All the best,John

Thanks for replying from work. Now would that be the real thick 294 page manual?OK now I know why I fly long haul so I can read manuals while George flys the plane.Regards

Thanks John. Now if u would like to justify all those thousands of dollars u get paid to be a Beta Tester, would u please give me a breakdown on the steps I need to take to reconnect to RC4 when I restart FS9 with the saved flight?I am reading the manual at rhe same time.Thank you John.

Hi there,Suppose you save a flight called 'ComingHoney' :-lolIf RC is running three files are automatically savedThe standardComingHoney.pln andComingHoney.wxwhich are the FS saves plus a fileplusComingHoney.rcdwhich contains the data RC needs. One important point, if FS is paused when you save the flight the RCD file will not be saved until after you unpause FS again. To reload the flight I do the following:Load ComingHoney.plnStart RC and press the 'Load previously saved .rcd's'and choose ComingHoney.rcdYou sould now be up and running again. To save a flight quickly when running RC pressctrl shift ;This will save the flight under an automatically generated name.Must go,(just finishing some work dear ;-)John

Sorry,In my previous message I typed'ComingHoney.pln'when I meant'ComingHoney.FLT'All the best,John

The only thing to remember is that you must unpause FS9 if it was paused while you saved ... if you shut down FS9 right after saving, the .RCD file is not generated. This is something that got mixed up in tutorial 2 as well, and JD will have the manual updated.

Thank you very much.I can see my way through this now.I had missed a vital step and you have explained it now.RegardsMike
