Hi to all and a IAS question

Featured Replies

Hello,I am new to Radar Contact, less than ten flights, but am enjoying it greatly, it is a great product. I fly with a PDMG 747-400 another tremendous product. I have one question about the product, I have gone through all of the manulas and such. All seems to work fine. I do notice that when descending on apporach to a dest, and recieving vectors to final, rarely if ever does the controller indicate an air speed to follow. Is this because they are specified in the flightplan I filed ususally a STAR, the type of approach or for some other reason? The flights continue as expected, I was just curious, I expected more speed assignmentsThanks for all the hard work its greatMike B

the only speed assignments we have are for downwind, and base. the use of speed restrictions for separation is actually not necessary, since i'm controlling the AI aircraft speeds, so they don't overtake you on final, or get in your way on finaljd

Thanks for the quick responseI havent heard much on Downwind or base , but I understand the reason, I do recall reading about the AI vectoring other aircraft away. That would be an interesting check off option, Though Im sure complicates the product production. I assume seperation speeds on ascent are similarly handled?again thanks for all the work Mke

actually departure is easier. if there is a plane on the runway heading, that you will be inconflict with, i give you a 15 degree turn from runway heading when you are cleared for takeoff.jd
