Speech quality

Featured Replies

Hi All (again),I realise this topic has been raised, and not surprisingly. It seems a shame that it's not been possible (or worthwhile..?) to get a more fluent speech pattern. There are significant pauses between words; and the cadence is all wrong - the way a word goes up, or down, at the end. The numbers, especially, do not flow together as they should in normal speech. The cadence is different if a word is part of a string - try saying '320' (three_two_zero) and the 3 and 2 sound quite different from individually-spoken 3, or 2.I've had a little success using a sound editor, removing redundant parts of some of the .wav files; it doesn't help the cadence but there's not a ridiculous gap between each digit. But it's a tedious business, and I've only done it on frequently-used words, or where the word or phrase should run straight into the next: 'for', 'to', 'on','expect vectors to the'.Has anybody else tried this?Brian

4.01 will be released very shortly. i asked for volunteers a few weeks ago. all those that volunteered received 4.01 to test.let's just say that the feedback has been 100% improvement on the speech issuejd

Excellent news, and many thanks for the reply. I shall look forward to 4.01 - isn't it wonderful how we can get all enthusiastic about the change of one digit ..!!! But I jest. Keep up the very good work.Brian
