May 31, 200620 yr Nicely in the cruise at 280 EGLL to EGPF Mach 0.78. " Call scottish control on......" Called scottish control as requested and received the instruction, "Descend to flight level 11000, start down now please I need you level in thirty miles or less,on reaching reduce speed to 250 knots or less." As you can appreciate trying to get down to 11000 in that distance was a bit of a problem, I didnt make it even using a descent rate of 3500 per minute. My question is, why no step descent, why suddenly down to 110, I have not had this happen before.x(
May 31, 200620 yr Commercial Member i think you missed a clearance from 280 to something between 280 and 11000. it's usually a pilot's discretion clearance, so you are not required to start down. but i give you that pilot's discretion clearance at about the time you should start down at a leisurely pace.if you want to try to duplicate the problem, you might as well log it for me, if it happens againlaunch rcv4click debugload the .plnclick start rcv4fly the flightif the problem happens again, zip up the .log and send it to me, with a description of the problemjd JD Read my blog
