The active runway at KORD was 27R however, I requested runway 9L and ATC OKed my request.Why doesn't RC deny the request to takeoff from the opposite end of an active runway?TIA

what if there was no traffic, and you really wanted to take off rwy 9L. you'd be a little ###### if i denied your request.so all requests for runway changes are granted, rightly or wrongly. careful what you ask for :-)jd
