December 7, 200619 yr HiWhen the Pressure changes as you climb with the default B737 you supposed to press "B" and the altimeter pressure should change automatically. I have noticed though that when the controller calls the pressure even when I press "B" it always goes to 29.92 although the pressure is different. What cause this any ideas?Stelios Stelios Christofides
December 8, 200619 yr Moderator Hi Stelios,This might be related to FS being programmed to FAA standards.Personally I would recommend you don't press B when adjusting the altimeter pressure. When cleared to the first Flight Level you should adjust the altimeter to standard pressure by using the knob on the altimeter.Likewise when cleared down to an altitude (rather than a Flight Level) dial up the QNH using the same method. This ensures that wherever in the world you fly you are consistent in how you adjust the altimeter pressure.Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England).
