Firewall

Featured Replies

Hi all,Am I going mad? I remember reading a couple of hours ago problems regarding 3rd party firewalls and V4.3. Im having this problem and cant find where I read this now.Can somebody provide me with a link please? Thanks!

4.3 doesn't talk to the internet, so there is no way a firewall can interfere with it's operationbut if you find a link stating otherwise, be sure to let me know where it is, so i can correct that mythjd

Hi JD,It was nothing to do with the internet. It was something about it blocking communication with FSX or FSUIPC.Ive noticed if I leave zonealarm when im running V4.3 I do not get the ATC options on FSX. This is corrected after I shut down zonealarm.

oh, that is between fsx and fsuipc. that is something that pete talks about on his forum.my mistake. i guess rc, using fsuipc, does interface with a firewall, indirectlyjd

Ah sorry about that. I must have got confused with the upgrades. Thanks for your time.If you dont mind me asking, how much time did it take you to upgrade RC to work with FSX and what language/s do you use?I am a software developer myself but it is web based software. The way this works interests me.

my time frame was somewhat constrained by family and work.hard to say how long it took. i had to wait until fsx was released so that the new .pln format was etched in stone.rc is written in vb6sp6jd
