January 10, 200719 yr HiAfter a long, long time I finally got the best of widefs. With some small problems I
January 10, 200719 yr There are also some freeware ones available as panel gauges or pop-ups. Look in the libraries under panels and gauges for TCAS and RADAR.If you have Ultimate Traffic one is included. Some are integrated with the vertical speed indicator and some as seperate indicators. Reality-XP has a payware Sandel gauge that can function as a terrain indicator, RMI, and TCAS. I have not tried it but I have their Jetline series of gauges that integrate TCAS with their navigational display.
January 11, 200719 yr Thanks, RonHaven't Ultimate Traffic. I fly Baron58/Cessna310 because I like flying twin-engine. Will try KingAir350 sometimes in longer flights.Would like very much to have a tcas gauge to fly rc realistically. Is Reality-XP found at simmarket too?Since I got widefs working, I have FS9/FSX in game pc and RC/ASv6.5/FS FlightKeeper in utilities pc.Have you any info about ultimate traffic?Eduardo
January 11, 200719 yr The Reality-XP gauge sets are described at www.reality-xp.com. The last time I checked they were for _FS9 only_. I do not use the Sandel gauge but it is one option for you:http://www.reality-xp.com/products/ST3400/index.htmThis shows terrain in one mode (it states it is built from your FS mesh data so it should match what you installed), and in RMI mode can show TCAS targets. I do not think it shows TCAS and terrain at the same time. It is intended for GA aircraft. For heavier twin GA I install this:http://www.reality-xp.com/products/JL2/index.htmThis installs an EADI or enhanced attitude indicator plus an EHSI or enhanced horizontal situation indicator (also called a navigation display) which includes a TCAS display. It will also install an avionics control panel that lets you set avionics frequencies and transponder, TCAS mode, EHSI range, EHSI VOR display mode, etc. It also comes with a modern navcomm stack and transponder which you can optionally install (I do not use those). The Reality-XP products are delivered in the flight1 e-commerce wrapper. This is a download system and the key will be delivered to you via e-mail. They also have free recovery at last check. If your e-mail changes they have an automated maintenance system that will let you update it. Be sure to keep a record of all passwords delivered to you and back up your delivered downloaded install file. Now while the Reality-XP products come with a panel installer that lets you set features of each gauge set for each aircraft, I strongly suggest for any gauge product you get by the same download method FS Panel Studio (not the CD version) delivered from the flight1.com web site. This lets you size, install, delete, and drag gauges around your panel. All Reality-XP components of each product set are required in the panels but those you do not wish to see in FSPS you just drag outside the panel image. It is great for installing freeware gauges. If your panel is a standard .bmp texture file, FSPS lets you connect to your paint program to patch up your texture as well. The current version now works with FSX as well as FS9 according to the information at:http://www.fspanelstudio.com/by downloading the latest version. Flight 1 wrappers provide an easy way to upgrade downloaded versions so when Reality-XP or FSPS releases an upgrade they are easy to install using the "repair" function of their installer.Ultimate Traffic version 2 is a favorite to install real world AI and AFCAD airport layouts into FS9. I don't know about FSX yet. I did not care for their included TCAS gauge but it generates 90% of my AI traffic. It falls down a bit on cargo AI so I exclude those and use freeware packages for cargo but if you don't want to bother just include the cargo schedules. UT2 does give an option for including GA AI. I dumped the default FS AI. It is at flight1.com and get the download version only since that one will work with FS9.http://ultimatetraffic.flight1.net/http://www.flight1.com/products.asp?product=utrafficIMPORTANT:If you decide to get UT2 and install it will overwrite your current FSUIPC.dll. Make a back-up copy of all of your FSUIPC files into a different safety folder other than modules. After installing UT2, copy those you backed up into your modules folder. Not doing this will cause problems with FS9 crashing as well as RC.Welcome to my world of AI!So pick your options. For adding and adjusting any gauges FSPS is a must in my opinion no matter what your choice of gauges.
