January 26, 200719 yr I'm using version 4.3 in FSX - I just finally got it working today after several days of fiddling around with it. But, I cannot seem to change the font/color of radar contact. It works fine, but the modules box is not on the menu. I have read through this forum, and saw the posts that said just to right click in the "box" - when I do this, I just get the option to "close window". Can someone PLEASE tell me how to do this? I saw a post that said to do it fo FSUIPC, but I tried that also to no avail. My basic question - Can I change the size and color of the font, and if so how? I would be SO appreciative if anyone can help me. Thank you. This is my very first post to this forum, so I am trying to follow the rules too.
January 26, 200719 yr Moderator Hi Ken,It sounds like you are trying to change the font / colour of the default green box in FSX. That isn't possible but you don't really want to use that - it's horrible! When you start RC a transparent window shoudl be displayed in FSX. This is the FSUIPC display for Radar Contact. use that instead. You can assign a button command in FSUIPC to toggle it on/off. I think (from memory) the command is AdvDisplay. If you can't find it let me know and I'll dig up the exact name.Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). January 27, 200719 yr Thank you for responding. What I am trying to do is something that is shown in the manual - that is being able to dock the RC window and being able to change the color of the font. Mine is showing in red and I'd like to change the color of the font. The manual shows it being able to be done, but to do it, according to the manual, you have to open "modules" at the top of the menu bas in fsx. BUT there is no modules there. So I'm trying to change the color of the font in the RC "box". Any ideas? Again, thank you and anyone else who takes the time to answer this and possibly share their knowledge with me. I sure as heck appreciate it.
January 27, 200719 yr Hi there,The section in the manual referred to using a seperate module called advdisplay. We are no longer using this since FSUIPC now has this function incorporated in it. I'm not sure if it's possible to change the font in the new display window and have to get to work so can't try it now :-(All the best,John
January 27, 200719 yr Moderator Hi,As John say's AdvDisp is no longer recommended. In FSX you select Add-ons / FSUIPC. Ensure FSUIPC multiline display window is checked. You can change the text to white by selecting 'Non-scrolling FS messages to be white' on the Misc tab.It isn't possible to change the font or its size. And to answer an earlier question if you want to assign a button to toggle the display on/off select 'AdvDisp Toggle' from the list in the Buttons + Switches tab.Cheers, Ray (Cheshire, England). January 28, 200719 yr Thanks to both of you for responding. I had to go out of town on business, so I'm a little late in answering this. I appreciate your responses to my question. At least now I know it can't be changed. Good Flying to you both.Ken
