Run Time error 76 mystery

Featured Replies

I had a bad experience several months ago of RC v4.2 closing right after I save the flight file before take off when lined up on the runway. (A procedure I always follow) Windows posted a run time error 76 message and so I gave up on RC v.4 for awhile and tried again recently and came with the same problem and I noticed it would always happen after I save the flight file into FS. I thought that because my FS9 was operating on F: drive that by movning RC back to C: drive would solve the problem but the same problem occured again. I checked to see if the FLT/WX. path was correct and it may not have been but I made sure that it was. Then I downloaded the latest FSUIPC 37.2 and installed it and when using the save flight of "CTR+Shift+;" of RC I didn't have the problem. I just wonder if I will have the same problem if I just save the flight with FS by using ";"? Could someone clarify this issue for me. Was it the FSUIPC or was it the path directory or was it trying to save with FS9 instead of with RC or was it a combination of 2 or more of the above? Please let me know. In the meantime I will only save with RC for now and hope that when I attempt a full flight instead of a mockup to test I will not have a bad experience. Jon Steffy
