May 23, 200719 yr Good day again. I hate to start posting all the time but now that RC4 is working as it should be it makes my flying 1000% more enjoyable. I do have a question though.A couple of times an AI in front of me on final approach which is WAY too close to me (causing wake interferance) all of a sudden will increase speed and start climbing (well not so all of a sudden but definitely while on tower's freq). This is wonderful for me, but is this an RC4 feature, or have I just been lucky and not noticed another aircraft on the runway perhaps? The biggest problem I have with any ATC program (FS9 or RC4) is timing my arrival so that I'm not too close to the AI in front of me and not being run over by an AI from behind. RC4 seems to be correcting for some of this and I know the manuel discusses RC4 speeding up or slowing down AI once you're handed off to tower, but I'd like to know how much freedom RC4 will give me from AI interferance.Bobby
May 23, 200719 yr FYI:Search this forum for a freeware utility called AISmooth that will place AI in a holding pattern allowing you to thin out at a separation period of your selection AI arriving. If you decide to try this use "Respond To User Aircraft" disabled so as not to interfere with RC control of AI. This allows me to maintain a traffic density of 100% used with Ultimate Traffic V2 schedules. This also allows thinning by increasing the AI take-off frequency the take-off queue that builds up in the initial mad rush of AI to the runway when loading a flight. Also, all of my aircraft have a TCAS which allows me to see the separation of AI. For larger aircraft I use the kind that is part of the navigation display as opposed to the type that is part of a VSI combo gauge. When not part of a payware aircraft, I use the payware Jetline series from Reality-XP.This allows me to fine tune my speed in final enough to avoid getting in a narrow window. As far as AI in front of you doing a go-around, it could be as you state that the runway is not clear. Exiting traffic might get stuck under several conditions including not enough gates causing a backup in the exit routes. Also look for a freeware utility of FS9 Configurator by Ken Salter. This version does work with FS9 to allow you to speed up AI taxi speeds just a bit to help clear the runway faster.
