June 9, 200718 yr On flights with FSX SP1 installed, the co-pilot will fly the plane until "cleared for approach" instead of "cleared to land" as in the past. Is there a setting to correct this or is this the way the software is set up now?As for comms, once the airplane is "cleared for approach", I have to make all changes, ie altimeter setting, heading, etc. when the co-pilot is still handling the comms. Is this normal also?I have the registered version 4.11 FSUIPC installed. Please advise. Thanks

Is there a conflict between the two? Please advise. Thanks!
June 9, 200718 yr Commercial Member co-pilot returns the plane to you when you're cleared to land. rc isn't going to land the planeis that the conflict you are referring to?jd JD Read my blog
June 9, 200718 yr No, as you say, the co-pilot returns the plane to you when you are cleared to land. I don't know whether Active Sky has anything to do with it, but on three flights with Active Sky loaded and running, the co-pilot turned the plane over when cleared for the approach, not cleared for landing.I tried a flight from CHA to CLT without loading Active Sky and the co-pilot turned it over when cleared to land. Does this make any sense? If not, I will log a flight and send it to you.
June 9, 200718 yr Commercial Member activek sky has nothing to do with it. if there is no tower controller, that will also determine when the co-pilot makes you fly the planejd JD Read my blog
July 5, 200718 yr I kind of had the same problem. As soon as I was cleared for the approach, the co-pilot gave me control of the airplane. At the same time, Approach asked me to contact the tower, and the co-pilot who was handling the comms, would never contact the tower. The also was not an option for contacting the tower in the AVDSP. The request kept repeating itself. After taking over the plane, and flying a while longer, the approach controller concelled my IFR clearance and cleared me to land. Kind of weird....a little anoying after a long uneventful flight.
