March 8, 200818 yr I have not used fsx/rc4 since November since i was waiting for my new PC. So I have forgoten a few cruical details when flying.I am flying in europe and keep busting my alt due to the qnh vs the standard US altimiter check. How do I set the altimiter to European standard qnh?RegardsLiam
March 9, 200818 yr Some models have an altimeter that has either a click spot to change the altimeter pressure reference or you may see some with dual reference windows (typically the backup type on a jet). There are also conversion tables available. Search for them in the library.29.92 in. Mercury is equivalent to 1013 mb for standard pressure. Also, when outside FAA jurisdiction, do not use the "B" key in FS to switch altimeter pressure from/to standard. This is hard coded to 18,000 feet in FS for the transition altitude which is not true wordwide but mostly in the US.
March 14, 200818 yr Thanx Ronzie!Im using the default fsx 737I cant find the click spot t change the pressure to qnh though?-Liam-
March 14, 200818 yr For standard pressure just put in 29.92 in. For local pressure in mb you'll have to convert to inches.altqnh.zip in the libs here searching on qnh works. Don't use decimal points. It is a tiny bit off but well within tolerance. You can also try to install another one as a panel gauge or pop up. Just search on qnh without restricting to any class for all opportunities.
