June 19, 200223 yr If you don't mind could you give a explanation of whatthe tools are/do and what are needed ( AFCAD, Project AI, TTools )and maybe how to use them/get started. Also - what files ( traffic.bgl ? ) that one should back up in the event they want to uninstall the tools. Thanks,Myles
June 19, 200223 yr 1. Download TTools.2. Read manual.3. Download AITMover, yRoute, or AITraffic (all Windows front ends for TTools).4. Read manual.5. Download AFCAD.6. Read manual.7. Download AISpeed.8. Read manual.9. Back up traffic.bgl file.10. Back up entire FSScenedbAFDFilesScenery folder.11. Back up sim1.dll and ai_player.dll in the MODULES folder.12. Dive in!TTools will create and edit flight plans, while AFCAD will add/edit airport parking spots, etc. AISpeed will change the AI taxi speeds.Hope this helps,-- Tom GibsonCalifornia Classic Propliners: http://members.aol.com/tgfltsim/index.htmlAlcoHauler Locomotive Page: http://members.aol.com/alcohauler/home/alcohaul.htmlFreeflight Design Shop: http://www.freeflightdesign.com/ San Diego Model RR Museum: http://www.sdmodelrailroadm.com/Drop by! ___x_x_(")_x_x___ Tom Gibson CalClassic Propliner Page
June 19, 200223 yr Tom,What tool do you use to adjust the aircraft radius? I meant to ask that on your suggestion on setting up the terminals. You indicated you set on Airline with a certain radius and another with a slightly bigger/smaller radius. I believe AFCAD can set the size of the parking space but how do you match the aircraft, say a default 737-400 to two different radii. Bill Sieffert
June 20, 200223 yr I'm interested in this, too. Tom? BTW, you can set the radius size in the aircraft .mdl with AITM by Thomas Molitor.ckfly
June 20, 200223 yr Tom,I like this! :) Would you mind allowing us to use this as a beginner's FAQ?ckfly
June 20, 200223 yr Thanks Tom!I haven't delved into this realm of FS yet but I know that I will be, as soon as I get some other things done. Thanks for laying out the requirements in a nice straightforward manner that even idiots like me can understand.Cheers!Heather
June 22, 200223 yr Wow - thanks. I have downloaded many of these, read the manuals, and am getting set to do some tweaking - the concepts are really pretty simple once you get a look into those traffic.bgl files. 1. I have downloaded/installed some extra livery for the default airliners.2. Used TTools to decompile the traffic.bgl3. Downloaded some airport gate files and AFCAD4. Downloaded several flight plan files: American/NW/Continental/AirCanada/Alaska SouthWest America West United5. Since I don't have AI planes to match ALL those flight planes - I am just going to use MS-Excell or MS-Access to trim out a nice selection for each them.6. I will alter the AC# in those selected FlightPlan.txt entries to match my AI livery selections.7. append the trimmed flight plan files together with the FS2002 default FlightPlans.txt8. Add my AI livery AC# to the default Aircraft.txt9. recompile the FlightPlans.txt, Aircraft.txt, Airports.txt using TTools 10. apply my downloaded AFCAD files11. going flying with my new traffic.bgl 12. I should have an nice selection of the above mentioned AI liveries buzzing around. At least that is the plan.- Myles
