Will RC Ever Use Proper Airport Names ?

Featured Replies

Have been playing around with the default ATC and one feature that is pretty remarkable is that many airports in the UK, including smallish RAF bases such as EGXD (St Athan) and larger one's like Valley (EGOV) are always referred to by name. Will RC ever include a decent amount of airports referred to in this manner ?It is surprising that FSX default ATC does this, as for

i haven't found anyone that wanted to record all the airport names.unless everyone records them, then the result is going to be worse. you'll have one controller voice saying things, up until the airport name, then some computer generated name, then the rest of the phrase being said.that was the long answer. the short answer is, the popular, larger airports will be named. the other 21,800 airports will be referred to by their icao namejd

............Is there any way of doing this for yourself......for example I know you can create your own "voice sets"....is there a way - or could one be devised - to allow you to associate words (ie. the name of an airport) with ICAO codes ?

sure. you can record them all if you want. but the controllers won't use your wavs. only you, as a pilot will hear, your wavsjd
