Ed Saade Working on SBP prior to Launch

Aboard SEAMARK summer of 1980. The sub bottom profiler (SBP) was a reasonably high accuracy acoustic system that much like a fathometer gives you an image in the vertical, of the ocean bottom. Bottom type determines penetration of the acoustic way and will reflect back layers of sediment under neath the bottom. Sand returns virtually no vertical view. Ed became a sea-going project manager for SAIC, and ultimately led the debris field mapping of TWA 800.
