Side Scan Sonar

This is an EG&G side scan sonar that we used off the coast of California and in the Aleutians, off the coast of Nome and Barrow, Alaska. It was a problem child. When this photo was taken, the side scan sonar output was recorded on a "wet paper" recorder, which in its self was a challenge to use and maintain.
