    Highlights

Just Planes has previous released a Westjet DVD which features the 737-700. This time around we will be focusing on the operations of the 737-600 and we will be taking an in-depth look at the simulator training done by Westjet pilots.

This DVD begins with a detailed look at the extensive training done by Westjet pilots on their simulator. This segment will be of particular interest to those of you who are interested in seeing how pilots handle various emergencies.

The next segment of this DVD focuses on the operation of the 737-600 to destinations such as Vancouver, Kelowna, Calgary, Comox and Regina. During these flights you will learn a lot about the 737-600 and the career history of the flight crew. Other aspects you may enjoy are the scenic views from the cockpit along with departure and arrival briefings.

This DVD is a good addition to your collection and one that I think is work the money.

    Highlights

Druk Air may not be a well known airline but it is certainly worth some attention because of its operation. Druk Air operates in and out of one of the world’s most challenging airports at Paro. This DVD beautifully captures the adrenaline rush of flying in and out of Paro to destinations such as Kathmandu, Delhi, Calcutta, Bangkok and Dhaka.

Apart from the very scenic and dangerous approach and takeoffs, this DVD also features many of the procedures involved in flying the BAE146, briefings and cabin service.

Overall this is a good DVD and one I would recommend if you are interested in the BAE146 and extreme airports.

    Highlights

Channel Express was a cargo airline which operated a fleet of A300’s, Fokker 27’s and Lockheed Electra’s.

Our first roundtrip features the A300-200 from Stansted to Gothenburg and Helsinki. Segments of this flight that I think many of you will enjoy are the external walkaround, Flight Engineer’s presentation and the Captains discussion on the history of the airline. Another point of interest was the cockpit presentation done by the first officer shortly before arrival back at Stansted.

The second segment features the Electra on flights to Jersey and back from Stansted. This segment didn’t feature many highlights but it was nonetheless interesting to see the operation of this aircraft and along with a cockpit overview. The final segment features the F-27 as it operates flights from Bournemouth to Jersey and Guernsey which features similar highlights to the Electra segment.

Overall this is a good DVD and while it isn’t as high tech as some of Just Planes newer DVDs, it was entertaining and I think that anyone who likes any of the aircrafts featured in this DVD will enjoy it.

    Summary/Closing Remarks

Once again, these DVDs were an absolute pleasure to watch and I think anyone who loves aviation will enjoy them. At a cost of $25-30 each they are a bargain. These are perfect for days when you what to see or do something aviation related but also want to enjoy the comforts of home.

Just Planes has really stepped up their editing and production of their DVDs and I am sure we will continue to see more innovations in their future products.
