  1. I thought about this solution, but it is not perfect because you have the fuel quantity used, but not the fuel quantity used by each engine. This solution is OK if you suppose that all engines have exactly the same fuel consumption during the flight, but it is not always the case, especially if you have an engine failure. So I thought about another solution: each time the gauge is drawn (18 times per second), I read the fuel flow FOR EACH ENGINE, given in pounds per hour, and I translate it into the fuel flow in kg per 1/18th of second. This way, I get the fuel quantity by each engine every 1/18th of a second, and I sum them all...What do you think about this solution?I think it is OK, but kind of complex. That is why I was looking for something simpler...Your solution is not perfect, but much simpler. Thanks for your help !!
  2. On some jet panels, the "FUEL USED" information is displayed, showing the fuel used by each engine. Do you know how to calculate this with the variables available in the FS2002 SDK?
  3. Thanks for your VALUABLE answer !!But your information brings another question...If I understood what you said, the throttle is in MANUAL mode if the lever is positioned between IDLE and CL detent, and it automatically switches to AUTO mode when moved to the CL detent and beyond. Conversely, the throttle switches back to MANUAL mode if the lever is moved between IDLE and CL.If this is right, what is the use of the A/THR button on the upper panel or the red button on the lever side? They are useless, aren't they?If everything is controlled by the lever position, when are you supposed to press these buttons? Thanks for your help !!
  4. Is there a real Airbus pilot around here?Or a maintenance engineer who knows the Airbus aircrafts? As I am working on an upgrade of my A320/330/340 panels (to make them more realistic), I have some very specific questions about the throttle management on these aircrafts:1) When A/THR mode is engaged, the throttle lever is supposed to be positioned on a specific notch: CL (climb), FLX (flex) or TOGA. What if the lever is positioned somewhere else? What if it is positioned somewhere in the area marked A/THR (between 0 and CL notch)?(see the attached picture)2) If you want to disarm the A/THR mode, you can press the A/THR button on the upper panel OR press the red button on side of the throttle lever. Is that right?3) If A/THR mode is disarmed, the engine power is directly managed by the throttle lever. Is the lever supposed to be moved only between 0 and CL notch, or is is supposed to move the whole way? What if you move the lever to the CL notch position in manual mode? What if you move it to the TOGA position? If you have any info about this, it would be greatly apreciated. If you know womeone who can answer these questions, please let me know. Thanks in advance !!Eric
  5. Can someone explain me why FS creates additional gauges in my 'Gauges' folder? For example, I have a gauge called A320.FMC.gau, and after some weeks of use, I find A320.FMC_0001.gau, A320.FMC_0002.gau and A320.FMC_0003.gau. They all have the same size and are strictly identical. Why does FS create these files??How to get rid of this??Thanks for any help.
  6. You can get a good A340 panel on my web site.Hope this helps...
  7. I just wanted to bring my contribution:Your A340-500 and -600 are really great, I'm sure many people share my opinion. For the panel, you can get my A340 panel on my web site. It works perfect with Simubuild A340. I will soon upload panel files especially tuned for Simubuild aircrafts.A little question: How can I reduce the resolution of the textures to improve the frame rate?(I have only a PIII 700 MHz...)Thanks for any help, and congratulations for the aircrafts !!!
  8. IMHO, the level of detail of the hi-res textures also collapses the frame rate.Is it possible to reduce the texure resolution?
  9. Thanks to you two for your contribution.I know the problem you're talking about, described in the AFCAD documentation. I checked Orly airport with AFCAD, and the distance between nodes is correct.Anyway, the problem is not only for AI aircraft, it is also for me. ATC never gives me the TO-clearance when my aircraft is at hold point.I found a workaround: I reduced the AI traffic to 80%. It didn't work the first time because I had to stop FS2002 and restart it to have the change taken into account. Now it works fine.My explanation is that FS2002 was spending all its CPU time in managing AI aircrafts and visualization, and had not enough time to manage ATC dialogs properly, on my "slow" machine (PIII 700 MHz). ATC had other strange behaviors, so that could be the right explanation.I hope that it will keep on working...Thanks for your help !!
  10. After I downloaded Air France AI aircrafts and flight plans from projectAI.com, I was happy to see that Paris Orly became a busy airport, like in reality. But the problem is that now, no aircraft can take off because ATC doesn't give any take-off clearance. So I tried several things:1) I reduced the AI traffic to 70%2) I modified Orly airport with AFCAD to have 1 runway for take-off and another for landing3) I watched the AI aircraftAnd the problem is still here: ATC does not authorize my aircraft or any AI aircraft to take-off!!!Do you have any idea??Thanks for any help !!Eric
  11. Have a look at the images provided in the "Doc" directory, everything is explained. The bottom buttons are memory buttons used to store your favorite pages of the MFD.Thanks for your compliments !!Eric
  12. All of you will certainly be happy to know that the Dassault Mirage 4000 that I developed with Romain Lucas is finished and ready for download.:-jumpyYou can get it on my web site hereEnjoy !!

  14. That's what I noticed, thanks for the confirmation. Is there another way to proceed for vector gauges? Do you think there is a way to avoid IMAGE_CREATE_DIBSECTION to have a transparent gauge?I'd like to have a IMAGE_CREATE_TRANSPARENT_DIBSECTION, but it doesn't exist...Thanks for your help !!
  15. Do you know how to make a transparent gauge using vector drawing?I tried the following flags:IMAGE_USE_BRIGHT | IMAGE_CREATE_DIBSECTION and it works, but no transparency,IMAGE_USE_BRIGHT | IMAGE_USE_TRANSPARENCY | IMAGE_CREATE_DIBSECTION and it doesn't work. Vector drawings don't appear...Any clue ?Thanks !!
  16. Thanks to you all for your answers!!I'm happy to see that it does not come from my FS configuration. I'll try to disable turbulence, hoping it will solve the problem...
  17. I am French, so I often fly over France. I fly with FSMeteo which provides real-time weather. Sometimes when I fly around Paris, some clouds appear and then the frame rate goes down to 1 FPS or less. If I clear all weather, it works fine again at 20-30 FPS. This problem only occurs in the Paris area.Do you have any clue?Config: FS2002 Pro, no additional scenery, no texture modified. Thanks for any info !!

  19. I don't think I can do a scenery engine that reads the BGL...And your solution to make a prediction from previous altitudes is not good when you fly in mountains.Anyway, thanks for your help !!!
  20. As a C/C++ software developer, I was interested in the Netpipes SDK released by Microsoft. I read the doc, but I couldn't find the answer to my question:Is it possible to record a flight and to replay it while flying (like if it was another player in a multi-player session)? In FS2000, FS Traffic had this option: record a flight, and replay it while flying. If someone has an idea on how to do that, I can bring my C/C++ expertise to develop it.
  21. I plan to develop a terrain following radar gauge. I can easily get the ground altitude below the aircraft, but I need to get the ground altitude in front of the aircraft (0.5 or 1 NM ahead).I am not a scenery expert, but if anyone knows how I can get this information from the scenery, I'd be glad to know...Thanks !!

  23. This solution would be great, but I don't know how to find such a function. If you give me a function that returns the ground altitude for a given position, I'm happy !!!Eric
