  1. Good morning, Ray... I did purchase the PolyPot software but could not get my head round it ๐Ÿฅต. I was/am not alone judging from the comments on their web/forum pages. Posts direct to the author have produced absolutely NO response at all. I did, however, manage to make all nine of my GF-modules fully functional using a mixture of the original GF-software and P3D/Options. I did put my toe-in-the-water of XP12 but GF alluded me. Plus, the inability to port-out various 'windows'. Approaching age 85 I have decided that my fully functional P3Dv5 plus all of my current add-ons ASP3D, ASCA, RC4, LNM, Honeycomb A&B, GFx9 with 3-screens is all I require for a very satisfyling FS pass-time - notwithstanding the occasionbal 'glitch' ๐Ÿ˜Ž. Thanks for your input ๐Ÿ˜‰. Ken H.
  2. Hi Alex, just been advised by my VA that the 777F aircraft I had downloaded from them is not compatible with P3D4/5 - FSX model only, not suitable for 64-bit systems. Aircraft uninstalled - challenge over (?)... Ref the glideslope: my point was that I had overshot the beam due to the altitude variation! I do not normally have any difficulty intercepting the slope. This altritude issue has only recently started and with this aircraft! Ken H
  3. Hi! I run Active Sky (ASP3D) which, when loaded at my departure point, indicates the current/correct baro-pressure that is confirmed when receiving departure instructions from ATC. My issue seems to be generated by an old, FS, model incompatible with P3D. Lots of FSX aircraft are compatible with P3D. The 777F flight was a one-off so plenty of other models to choose from. Ken H.
  4. Ray and Ian, just been advised by my VA that the 777-200LF I downloaded from them is NOT compatible with P3D4/5. Maybe the reason for mt recent difficulties ~~~ advice a bit late ๐Ÿ™„ Time to change aircraft for another run at the altitude variations!!! Ken H.
  5. Hi Alex, as a courtesy I copy my recent reply to Ray Proudfoot (RC). "Made a flight EGSS - Vienna and monitored the altitude all the way! Once above TA from Stansted the variations started with a difference between 'Indicated' and 'Altitude' of 350 - 480 feet. Another 'interesting' challenge today was noted after crossing a VOR and changing frequencies for the next VOR the aircraft (freeware 777) started 'porpoising' with climbs of over 1000 feet then a drop to 600 - 800 below the planned FL350! Resulting in being shouted at by ATC with the offer of further help/training ๐Ÿค. Holding the advised QNH until reaching the TA did make a difference with only an 'odd' 30 - 40 feet above the ground. That difference could be the reason why I have 'missed' the glide slope a few times recently ๐Ÿค• by being just a tad higher than necessary to pick up the beam!!! All goods fun ๐Ÿ˜Ž." Alex, I apologise for not commenting sooner ~~~ the addition of the 'green banana' to LNM has been a major 'improvement' for me personnaly and has made reaching a crossing point accurately so much easier. Thank you so much ๐Ÿ˜Ž. Ken H.
  6. Hi Ray, just checked the m4.csv file and it is as your numbers show! Made a flight EGSS - Vienna and monitored the altitude all the way! 7. Good morning, Ray... A very comprehensive response; thanks ๐Ÿ˜ƒ. Regarding my instruction to descend to 9000 feet (gives the QNH at same time) ~~~ this would seem to cantradict the TA! Does RC use the TA as coded into RC (i.e. change to 'feet' as opposed to 'FL') Whenever I receive "to feet" I have always changed from STD to QNH. Perhaps too early - wait for the co-pilot to check Baro at the TA? Certainly an interesting 'can-of-worms' ๐Ÿ˜. Did you read the link that Alex gave regarding temperature/altitude deviations? Has given me a new respect for the guys at the pointy end ๐Ÿ˜Ž. Ken H
  8. Alex, thanks for your response. The 'deviation' link made for interesting reading but I have not found any reference to it within P3D - will make further enquiries. I do recall seeing the OAT being very cold! Will make a point of recording OAT for future issues. My LNM is configured for Altitude in 'Tools' as:Indicated, Actual, AGL, Grd Elev, AP selected. Will try another flight (up to Keflavik where it should be quite cold!) and report back. Thanks, Ken H.
  9. Ray and Ian ~~~ thanks for your input. Ray; flight plan was EDDB-TGL-DHE-SAB-EGPH at FL360. I have reverted RC4 'deviations' as you suggested. Descending to alt 9,000 feet I did change from Std to QNH (surprised at how high the figure was '1044.3' with AS running. Will fly again today and report back ๐Ÿ˜Ž. Ken H.
  10. Alex, I posted the following on the Radar Contact forum but copied to yourself as i believe theye may be a connection (?). W10; P3Dv5.3+; Radar Contact; LittleNavMap v2.8.12 (32bit), N2313; ASP3D + Cloud Art. Radar Contact has been my must have addon for almost 20-years to the extent that I never fly without RC4 running! Just recently I have been chastised unmercifully by ATC for not observing my 'given' altitude - this always associated with the descent phase of flight. For example: "descend to alt 9000ft" - done - altitude 9000ft indicated on all instruments (including GoFlight MCPPro). ATC keep calling me to stay with my assigned altitude - I am - warnings about being hauled in front of the FISDO and loosing licence. I note that in the LNM map my aircraft is showing an altitude around 555 - 895 ft above 9000ft !!!๐Ÿค• despite all other indicators at 9000ft. I have even changed my deviation to 1000ft in the General settings in RC4 - still receive warnings! If I run P3D with only LNM the altitude numbers are correct at all levels - only when running RC4 am I having this 'fault'. Am I missing something that I have not noticed/experienced previously? Some 'assistance' would really, really be appreciated. I have also posted this item on the LNM forum section. Ken H.
  11. W10; P3Dv5.3+; Radar Contact; LittleNavMap v2.8.12 (32bit), N2313; ASP3D + Cloud Art. 12. OK, thanks... It is not 'desperately' important - just curious as to 'why' ๐Ÿ˜Ž. I can live with it ๐Ÿ˜.
  13. W10; P3Dv5.3; Active Sky; Active Sky Cloud Art; Go-Flight modules; Radar Contact RC4; Skytrack (VA tracking); LNMap 2.8.12; Navigraph 2309. Intermittent incorrect labels! Could this issue be related to the order in which a flight is loaded/started? My routine is to run P3D; set Honeycomb options; run Go-Flight controls; run ASky & Cloud Art; run LNM (plan built on previous day); run SkyTrack; run RC4. Variations in this routine also show intermittent incorrect labels - it is not consistent! I have set 'user aircraft labels' to show aircraft reg; airline; call-sign; height; height above ground. The height information and registrration is not an issue but airline and call-sign vary! Today's example displayed: atc_id=C-MIKE ; atc_airline=Wisconsin; atc_flight_number=9999 This, despite checking and confirming details in the aircraft.cfg file as here... 14. Hi Alex, Sorry to have bothered you with this ~~~ after extensive trials (and many errors) I discovered it was MY fault entirely ๐Ÿ˜ž. When I 'named' my Florida Keys plan I mistakenly inserted a semi-colon [Florida Keys; KHST - KEYW]. Once that was removed/renamed the plan really came together ๐Ÿ˜Ž. KenH
  15. Adendum: After another PC-restart user aircraft is showing at my default P3D start position/default LNM plan! However, user aircraft still not showing on a new plan; a trip down the Florida Keys in the Gruman Goose at 2000 feet. Other loaded plans also not showing user aircraft!!! In addition, having loaded a plan the map then reverts to my default start at LBA! Really puzzling! KenH
  16. Hi Alex, running W10; P3Dv5.3+; LNM v2.8.12/32bit; N 2308; ASP3D + ASCA; UT-Live. On starting PC today user aircraft is not showing on theLNM map display - just a yellow circle where the aircraft should be (parked at start of plan)! I thought this might be to do with 'simconnect' but possibly not as ASP3D connects to the sim! After completing a flight yesterday I did run the latest W10 update that was pestering me to install!!! Prior to that installation P3D was running perfectly with LNM etc. I did not, however, run P3D (or anything else) after the 'update' had installed - just allowed the PC to close and go for dinner. Have checked all (?) the optional settings in LNM and these appear to be correct - have even re-installed LNM to no avail! I would really appreciate your suggestions and input to this challenge. Thanks in anticipation, KenH.
  17. Ian, good morning to you... Fixed!!! I gave in and did another un/re-installation which resulted in RC comms but when moving the RC-message window it disappeared again! 'One last try' ~~~ as above but now functioning as it should. All three screens working to my satisfaction ๐Ÿ˜ƒ I blame my limited 'dalliance' with XP that muddied the waters - so to speak.- not only with RC but also Little Nav Map. I shall now stay where I am 'comfortable' but thank you for your time and patience ๐Ÿ˜Ž. Ken ๐Ÿ˜‰
  18. Thanks for your interest, Guys...sorry for the delay...been under the 'boss's orders replenishing the chuck wagon! I should have said that when in set-up mode, RC voices of Pilots, CoPilots, Controllers are clearly audible. A failure to link to the Sim maybe? Ian, when the RC audio 'fails' is when I am on The Stand awaiting instructions. I have only attempted this with a freeware B737-800 and A320-214. I only use freeware aircraft because I make my own panels from the download and-or from 'stock' gauges. This has worked well for me for almost 20-years ๐Ÿ˜Ž. Ken ๐Ÿ˜‰
  19. Managed to have RC repaired and running OK - except there is no audio audible. This. following a W10 update two days back!!! I have had this issue previously https://www.avsim.com/forums/topic/623100-no-audiblle-rc-sound/?tab=comments#comment-4827536 however, following the previous instructions audible audio is still a non-eventy! At least on the previous occasion I could hear some chat but hardly audible even with speakers on 'max' and totally ususeable. Any other ideas? Ken ๐Ÿค•.
  20. After a (very) brief flirtation with X-Plane and returning to P3D where all my peripherals work perfectly I now find that my beloved Radar Contact has gone walk-about! After much 'faffing' I have what I believe/hope is a successful installation that just requires a 'key' to complete the process... The reference to not finding 'FSX.exe' seems to have gone away; I am running FSUIPC v6.12, W10, P3Dv5.3 and the frequently mentioned 'msstdfmt.dll' is present and correct. Running the RC installer takes me to the registration screen with a number and asking for an email to 'jdtllc.com'. Is that still the case ~~~ I thought that on my previous installation of RC when P3D was installed a suitable key was located on the registration page?! RC is my absolute 'must-have' add-on and I promise not to go away again ๐Ÿคจ. Ken ๐Ÿ˜ฐ.
  21. Thanks, exactly what I was looking for! I have experienced some strange alterations to the layout and function of LNM since the move to 2.8.10! I have always run the new installer over the existing installation and maintained settings as I wanted them. This iteration sems to have taken LNM to a completely different setup. No matter, still an amazing product. Thanks for the work you put into LNM. What progress towards the 'blue banana' ~~~ ? Still a work-in-progress? Ken ๐Ÿ˜‰
  22. W10; P3Dv5+; LNM v2.8.10 I have five lines of text attached to my simulator aircraft on the map during flight! A/c Reg; Type; Call sign; XPDR#; IAS; GS; TAS;; Hdg; Alt ind; AGL; Lat; Long. Can't find the appropriate item to edit and reduce the amount of detail listed. Point me in the right direction, please. Thanks, Ken ๐Ÿ˜‰
  23. Thanks, Ray... error turned out to be a LNM setting in the 'Window' tab keeping LNM 'on top' ๐Ÿค. But thanks for your input. Ken ๐Ÿ˜‰
  24. W10; P3Dv5+; Coincidence? I have just taken delivery of a Honeycomb A & B package ~~~ looks and feels great but certainly offers challenges in setting up! Ready to fly ~~~ P3D5 loaded; LNM viewed on sererate monitor; instruments ported-out to seperate screen; 'spot' view on a seperate big screen. I have always loaded/run RC4 then 'undocked' the atc-module down to the LNM screen...never failed me until now! Suddenly RC4, once it is undocked, looses focus and is hidden behind eitrher the instrument panel or LNM and I can't get it back into view! The only way I can see/read my flight instructions from RC4 is to have the atc-module visible on the main screen which spoils the immersive effect. Would appreciate some solution to my challenge... Ken ๐Ÿ˜‰
  25. I purchased '2020' on 27 Dec 2020 but gave up shortly after due the number of 'glitches' etc, etc. With the growing popularity of '2020' I have now reinstalled the Sim, very impressed with the overall scenery and (now) functionality. Through FS2000 - FSX and (currently) P3D5 I have become accustomed to my home cockpit set-up which for '2020' now raises a big question: Are multi-screens available within '2020'? In the previous Sims I made use of 3-screens together with a suite of 9 GoFlight modules; Yoke, TQ, pedals and was completely Mouse Free ๐Ÿ˜Ž. I use screen-1 (19") for 2D panel (own creations); screen-2 (40") for outside views/scenery; screen-3 (19") for Little Nav Map. So the BIG question is: can the cockpit/panel be ported out to 19" and leave the 40" free for overall scenery depiction? I appreciate that only 3-D cockpits are available in 2020. I appear to have hit a brick wall here - am I missing something or is this facility just NOT available in '2020'? Ken ๐Ÿ˜‰
