After the last update I am getting large multuicoloured tiles on the ground scenery. . Has anyyone else had this problem?
-
I know this is a repeat like a cracked record but maybe there is something I have missed. I have sent a ticket but no reply as yet. These are the procedures and responses I have had,
Downloaded and installed the plane as directed. First startup no power.
Reviewed the issue and saw the need to launch the app which I did. Now plane loaded with power on.
Decided to download several liveries.
Restarted but now no power even after opening the app first.
Sent a ticket. Awaiting the reply.
Removed plane through Windows 11 app manager.
Re-installed from new download.
Started app with administrative Privileges.
Started MSFS and Fenix A320 at KIAD.
Plane loaded without power (again).

My stupidity. Interpreted the white light as being OK. Miss read the start guide and was not patient to hear the "chimes". Would be worth the instructions advising to wait until systems have a chance to start before trying to start the APU. That was my error.
-
When you first load the aircraft and set it up at the gate is the battery on? The beginners guide says in the power-up section point "1. Bat 1 and 2: ON (chimes)". When I press Battery the white light "off" lights in the second battery box. I don't hear any chimes.

How can it be on and how can you tell as all instruments are cold and dark until I turn on the external power?
-
Removed installer and all versions of FBW A320 then reinstalled from scratch. I set up my MS2020 as per the BBW instructions and the following are the steps I have taken without getting the APU to start.
1. Open Simbrief and develop a flight plan. I have the Modern flight model selected.
2. Changed back to DX 11
3. Removed and reinstalled the installer and the development version of the FBW A320
4. Open MS 2020 and select FBW A320 without extra liveries and an empty community file except for the FBW aircraft.
5. Start at Gate; cold and dark.
6. I open the Fly Bag and enter the flight plan and information including the fuel loading.
7. Open the overhead panel and press "Bat 1" and nothing happens.
8. Press "Bat 2" and the "off" sign shows in the battery two only.
9. Turn on the APU "master SW" which stays on
10. Press APU "Start". No action for the APU but a "fault" indicator shows in the Maser SW.
11. If I select Ext power number 1 battery will then start but APU nothing happens even after waiting a while.
12. If I turn off the external power the main Batteries turn off and the aircraft goes dead.
What am I missing?

Changing to use "Beta: Use UTF-8 for worldwide language support" did not work. Now will repeat the removal of installation and reinstall with the new installer. Did not work last time but maybe will this! Also will Key bind hardware.

I have tried all versions. The problems start with the battery switches. At first, the left will not start but the right will. I wait several minutes and the left switch will then start and turn on. The APU master is slow to turn on but eventually does but the APU start button does not. I can shortcut the problem with the battery switches by turning on the external power but this is not correct as the batteries should not depend upon the external power.

I am unable to turn oh the APU. I start with the aircraft cold and dark at the gate open the EFB and load the sim flight information; load the fuel and move to the overhead panel where I turn on the battery and wait until the battery stabilises. Then turn on all the fuel pumps. I wait a while, prob a minute or two then press "Master sw" on the start overhead panel but it will not activate the APU start button. I have tried many different situations and re-loaded the aircraft but the APU still will not start. Is there something I am missing?

I just flew L52 to KSBP using Google and Bing. Definitely, Google was better. All this means making your own choice based on your own experience and need.

I downloaded the MSFS 2020 Google Map replacement and have used it several times without any problem, but I have not been impressed. I have the latest version and set it up as directed in the demonstration video. I have also viewed many comparison videos but have not personally seen much difference in my setup.
I decided to go to a specific location and chose Lord Howe Island in the South Pacific Ocean as I felt such an isolated place would demonstrate apparent differences. The results surprised me. The Lord Howe Island without Google was by far the best. Brighter with much better detail. Is it possible I have a setting incorrectly set? I tried to embed the photos but without success.

Diamond DA62. I removed it and did a re-install through the marketplace and still have the same problem. I have the Legacy model but tried the Modern with the same result. Most other planes load but the instrument panels are slow to become seen.

When I load some aircraft the interior views are not properly loaded, I can see the engines and the landing gear interior but not the aircraft panel. How can I fix that?

Makes X-Plane look good

Found it. Go to General options, open Accessibility then Cockpit interaction system and change to LEGACY.

I guess I am missing something. Since the last update, when I mouse over buttons they turn blue but nothing happens. I cannot change any values. I read above posts and see I have to "properly set up the lock mode." So I go to the settings for mouse and all I find is settings for various functions but nothing about "lock mode". Please clarify for this mental retard.

It is better than you can really expect. It is the “go to” flight simulator now. The scenery and the weather are spectacular. The 787 and the A320 fly and behave. I have not had time to look at much else since the latest upgrade, but considering they are base aircraft we have come a long way. To get better aircraft I expect we will have to pay.
The Zibo 737 will keep X-Plane relevant and I wish them luck as they have given me hours of excellent flight sim experience, but we do move on. I am looking forward to the next X-Plane development. It is a competitive world.

How do you then load a Simbrief FP?
-
Unfortunately, in the A320neo you can load the FP from Simbrief but if you want the start "cold and dark" you have to choose a parking spot which then makes the FP unusable. That has been my experience. Does anyone know how to use a Simbrief plan in FS2020 and an aircraft with the engines off?

I am an IFR pilot, and I want to fly a simulator, not a pretty flying game. I like the weather to be accurate and follow the seasons. I want airliners where the buttons and dials work, autopilots that follow a plan, both for direction and flight levels. I like to start from Cold and Dark, and follow a checklist, turn on the systems in order, load a flight plan with the latest AIRAC data. Then I want the aircraft to fly "straight and Level" and in trim, and if I need to make some adjustments, I don't want the plane to collapse into a death spiral. I want aircraft I can fly in VATSIM. I want aircraft like Zibo 737 or Rotate MD80 in X-Plane.
I can hear, "well, go back to X-Plane," but I bought Microsoft FLIGHT SIMULATOR 2020, not Microsoft Flight. You asked "what am i looking for".

Does anybody know how to set the trim (aileron and rudder)?
I have considerable problems having the aircraft flying "straight and level." Any flight changes to the trim cause an immediate, almost uncontrolable spiral that usually ends in a crash.
I have reviewed the Flight_model.cfg in the ...\Official\OneStore\asobo-aircraft-generic-turbo-singleengine and cannot see what could be corrected.
Is there a known solution? Where should I look?

I have been trying to get the aircraft in MSfs2020 to work. I don’t feel there is a reasonable IFR aircraft available. The small VRF aircraft flown by hand, operate OK but are so slow you really can’t go anywhere. The scenery is impressive, but the weather is very unreliable, and the map nav waypoints are often incorrect. I don’t know when or if Navigraph will work with MSFS2020.
The autopilots track for a while, but often the aileron and rudder trims are not set correctly. If you touch anything to correct, the aircraft will go into an uncontrollable spiral. The plane rarely follows a course set precisely. I must say the new A320 update did give some improvement, but the ILS is still unreliable.
I know there will be improvements, but so far, the upgrades have made things worse.
Covid restrictions mean more time for flying. I wish the “simulator” would do its job correctly.

It is still a mess
multicoloured tiles
in Microsoft Flight Simulator (2020)

I did a conplete re-install and the results are excellent. I a have to say that Microsoft, now that everything has to be through X-Box, makes the re-install as difficult and confusing as possible, Microsoft gives instructions that don't relate to the system bring used?
