  1. I especially like the first shot, with the low-lying clouds. Here are some shots from a few years ago when I took a flight from KTTD, did a touch & go at KDLS and returned. Then booked an hour in their Frasca simulator: xxxhttp://www.flickr.com/photos/flysd/sets/72157605229564324/ EDIT: The site was launching automatically, so I killed the link - just copy everything after xxx and paste in.
  2. Don't know if this is what you're experiencing, but I was getting a CTD flying between San Diego and LA (anywhere in LA county, not just LAX). There is apparently a seam in the scenery around 33 degrees 45 minutes north latitude. After much trial and error I found that it was something in my fs9.cfg that was causing it. Try renaming your fs9.cfg, then run fs9 so it will rebuild a default fs9.cfg. If that fixes it, then you can go back in and add your custom settings.Several weeks after I did this, a friend had a similar problem. When he tried the above procedure the problem went away. I have not had a recurrence of the problem, and I have heavily tweaked the fs9.cfg. Never did figure out what setting was causing the problem.HTHJohn
  3. I experienced similar stutters when changing views (my system is virtually identical to yours), and they went away when I changed from FPS locked at 30 to unlimited. Don't know if that will work for you, but it's worth a try.

Check your video cable for bent pins on the end that plugs into the computer. You may be able to straighten them with tweezers.

Thanks, Chris - that did it! I just enabled Render to texture and all is well. Now the sequence of events makes sense. I had just installed the new KSAN file and wanted to try it out; since I have MegaScenery I changed to their recommended settings, which included disabling Render to texture. Looking back at it now, I should have put two & two together, but sometimes things aren't obvious until you've gotten past them.I appreciate your prompt response, and I'll grab the 32-bit clouds.

I began experiencing exactly the same problem this morning, after using FS9 (almost daily) successfully for over three months. It crashes at the 77% mark, loading weather. I tried changing from the default fair weather to cold fronts, and this seemed to work. It loaded everything and I was able to take off, but after repeated attempts taking off from Seattle in the MS Beech Baron, I have yet to be able to make a simple loop around the airport and land. CTD every time, but in different places. Also tried changing the season to summer, since I had read about problems with the fall scenery, but that doesn't seem to make a difference.I do have some scenery addons - BlueSphere, LA MegaScenery, water textures, etc., but these have never caused any problems before today. Last night my anti-virus caught a variant of the swen virus, which it immediately quarantined. I just got through running Symantec's removal tool for the w32.swen.A@mm (after doing a complete virus scan of the whole system) and it couldn't find anything.Maybe somebody will see something here that I'm missing.Athlon 2800, 1024 Ram, FX5700 w/53.03 drivers, XP Pro
