Had to reinstall FSX help w/ PMDG aircraft
Thanks, Geoff. Was hoping to avoid all of the re-loading; however, I should have deduced I would need to. I did get FSX back up and stock aircraft working. Re-loaded an A2A Cessna 182 w/ no apparent issues. Next on to the PMDG aircraft and all my ORBX scenery....dread. Thanks for the reply. v/r Carter Mansfield

Had to reinstall FSX help w/ PMDG aircraft
Oh, sorry. Been a while since I've actually needed support. Things were running smooth as silk....and then....crash. I'll post this over there. Apologize for my lapse in etiquette. Carter Mansfield

Had to reinstall FSX help w/ PMDG aircraft
I recently had a drive crash. Not one where I have FSX or Prepar3D; however, the drive crash necessitated a reinstall of the OS, WIN 7 Ultimate. This obviously effected my register. Finally got FSX reinstalled to its own drive. In the FSX menu, I can see all my PMDG aircraft, I can select them, it asks for the dll permissions to which I say yes, but then asks for the license. I input the license for the corresponding aircraft, but I receive an error. What am I doing wrong? Will I have to reinstall all my PMDG aircraft and liveries? Thanks for any help. Carter

ASE not connecting
gator319 replied to marco1284's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumNo luck here either. ASN will not connect says it is downloading weather, but nothing. Cannot even access historic weather...locks up the program. All were working fine last night. Anyone know what the problem is?

Black screen in full screen
No one has found a solution to this? I have the same problem. When pressing alt + enter or even more annoying, when accessing any of the menu items for instance flight planner, when I return to the sim....black screen in fullscreen and windowed mode. Tried different drivers nothing.

FSX Memory Management
I have the exact same problem with the GTX 280...quite annoying. Only problem, I haven't seen anyone suggest a fix. People have recommended switching drivers, but to which ones. There is so darn many of them. Would love a solution to this.

Invisible AI
gman!, thanks for the tip. Alright. This may be nothing, but I set up a flight at KSEA near dusk. I let time pass naturally and after dark all AI were still visible. Flew around a bit in the default Jet Ranger staying near the airport trying to task the system. No issues. Only flew around for about 30 minutes. I didn't change a thing. Wanted to see if I could duplicate the problem. Even tried the alt + enter switch several times with no issues. This is so frustrating. I'll try it again with a more complex aircraft like the Level-D 767. Funny thing, I even had other processes running in the background. I remember going through this with FS9; however, I had a much weaker system then and it didn't take near as long to get FS9 running decent.....well tolerable.

Invisible AI
Really. OOM with an i7, 8g RAM, and the Nvidia GTX280. I suppose it can happen. Haven't played with those buffer pools before. I've done a from scratch re-install following Nicks post to the letter. Suppose I could try a repair install. Thanks for the info regarding the ATR props. I can check that one off.

Invisible AI
My AI program is by Just Flight and is called Traffic X (photo of manual 1st page below). Are they the same? They have similar names. From every thing I've read, all the AI are designed specifically for FSX.....no FS9 models/textures. Did they lie? I know it's hard to fathom. Should I delete Traffic X and acquire some other AI program?

Invisible AI
It's not just addon AI, it's add on flyable and every now and then, default planes.

Invisible AI
Every airport and in flight at various altitudes. Switching from windowed mode to full screen exacerbates the issue, as well as brings on even stranger video issues. I have no add-on scenery as far as airports or geographic areas and just rebuilt my .cfg file. The only add-ons I have at the moment are Level-D 767 for FSX, ATR for FSX, and Traffic X. I'll try the shadows off even though I hate not having them.

Invisible AI
I follow. I haven't found any solution to the invisible AI aircraft, stock aircraft, or add on aircraft. It's not isolated to just dusk. In addition, I realize alt + tab or alt +esc doesn't seem to function in FSX, even using alt + enter to switch to windowed mode to allow the engagement of other operations (check mail, internet) causes strange video issues. Some members have seen benefits by switching DX-10 preview mode on. I'll try it before changing drivers....again. Thanks.

Here is what mine says:

No kidding. When I run DXdiag it says my version is 10.

Invisible AI
If you mean DX-10 preview....it's off. I'll try the shadows; however, those come in handy during landing. Haven't heard many good things about DX-10, which is what I have on my system. Is there a way to downgrade to DX-9? Id' like to give that a try.

Invisible AI
I've searched and searched the forums and can't seem to resolve this problem. At dusk, all my AI aircraft become invisible....nav lights and beacons only. I'm running the latest nVidia driver as of today (03-08-09) with a clean install, FSX w/ Acceleration. I've followed NickN's guide to the letter including the use of nHancer. My system:Windows Vista Ultimate 64 SP1Intel i7 at 3.2GHz8g DDR-3 1330MHz, timing 9, 9, 9, 24GeForce GTX 280Motherboard DX58S0Nothing overclocked

Strange video issue with Level D 767 FSX
Noon,You may be on to something. I just completed two flights (VFR) from KSEA to KYKM and return at dusk into night with zero problems. However, if I try to minimize FSX using the windows key, alt + tab, or alt + escape....it's all over. If I'm able to get back to the sim, everything is invisible. Not just the Level-D 767, but all aircraft, buildings, etc. That must be the trigger. Any thoughts?

Strange video issue with Level D 767 FSX
When I looked at nHancer into the FSX profile & global, I did see an entry for SLI; however, clicking on the tabs showed SLI disabled. Strange. I checked allow override of predefined settings and was able to uncheck anything related to SLI. I couldn't figure a way to copy and paste the profile so the best I could do was export it and attach it here. With SLI removed from the nHancer line, I'll try this again before going into more drastic measures. Well it won't let me upload a nHancer exported profile so here it is in text form. No reason, DShutt. I've been with AVSIM for a while. Like I said earlier, I did find the "invisible" thread in the Level-D forum. It's confusing to a novice like me, but if all else fails, I'll give it a try.

Strange video issue with Level D 767 FSX
Thanks, nooon. I'll look for those drivers and give them a shot. I did find a thread in the Official Level-D forum regarding this problem. However, the only solution found doesn't make any sense to me:http://www.leveldsim.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=16215They suggested returning the OS back to a point before you installed FSX. Sounds complicated to a novice like me. Besides, don't we need all those windows updates?

Strange video issue with Level D 767 FSX
I recently purchased the Level-D 767 for FSX. Been using the version for FS9 for years with no problems. I purchased the download version which I assume is up to date and right after takeoff anywhere, I get the following strange video issues. Nothing I do helps, I must exit out, reboot, and try again with the same results. I don't get this problem with the default FSX aircraft. I'm running Windows Vista (64) on an Intel Core i7 Extreme, 3.2 ghz, 8gb board memory, two Nvidia GTX 280 in SLI (I'm aware FSX doesn't take advantage of the two cards). I'm using the Nvidia 12-26-08 7.15.11.8120 driver. Initially, the 3D panel went transparent. Switching to outside view, the plane was transparent. All you could see was the outline and the wheels. Then the plane just went invisible, but engine sounds still there. The 2D panel seemed to work fine. After accessing the FSX menu, no changes made, coming back to the sim, I was looking at the below screenshot. Any thoughts?
