September 19, 200916 yr Hi guys, I seriously need some help.I run my FSX on these specs: Intel Core2Quad Q9400 @ 3,1 GHz, 4 GB RAM 800 MHz, BFG nvidia 8800 GTS 320 MB OC2.I have a Full HD LCD. When I press Alt+Tab, it goes into windowed mode and everything is fine. Back to fullscreen - black screen again. When I lower the resolution, it works even in fullscreen.I tried several drivers for my card, but nothing helped.Any ideas?Thank you. V
September 19, 200916 yr try alt enter (to go to windowed mode) then alt enter (back to fullscreen) again. this happens to me sometimes and this seems to do the trick, Philip Regards, Philip Lodge PC specs; Windows 7 64 bit home premium, Asus P6X58D-E, Intel core i7 930 @ 4.0 GHz, Corsair XMS3 6GB DDR3 1600MHz triple channel RAM, POV GTX 470, 500gb HDD + 250gb FS HDD, 24" 1920 x 1200, 19" 1280 x 1024 GoFlight MCPPro, VRInsight CDU II, Saitek Pro Flight Radio Panel. September 19, 200916 yr Do you use Alt + Enter when you toggle between windowed mode and full screen in FSX?If not - Try to use Alt + Enter.Edited: And never use Alt + Tab from full screen. First goto Windowed mode in FSX with Alt + Enter, then Alt + Tab to another task in Windows.
September 19, 200916 yr Author Sorry, I wrote alt+tab, but meant alt+enter. I found a solution. I reinstalled video car drivers three! times (yes, the same driver three times), and it is workung now. Better than before. Seems like something went wrong with the drivers... V
September 19, 200916 yr I have had this issue with Nvidia drivers for years. It only happens sporadically. Sometimes alt tabbing works other times it does not. It is very infuriating. I have tried different drivers with no luck. I have had the problem disappear with a fresh install only to reappear sometime later. I hope that you have found a solution but I seriously doubt it. If you search Nvidia forums there are topics on this but Nvidia seems unwilling to put much effort into FSX. Hopefully one day there will be a solution. Mike Keigley

I have the same problem. When pressing alt + enter or even more annoying, when accessing any of the menu items for instance flight planner, when I return to the sim....black screen in fullscreen and windowed mode. Tried different drivers nothing.
November 16, 200916 yr Do you guys have the same screen resolution in Windows as well as in FSX settings? I've had problems in full screen using different resolutions but when the resolutions match it works great. For example if my resolutions in Windows is 1680 x 1050, in the FSX settings the resolution has to be 1680 x 1050

FSX is having a hard time rendering everything it loaded. I have had this happen on occasion and usually wait until the loaded program appears (sometimes that takes some time to render), and, if it doesn't, shut down FSX and restart. Once you go into windowed mode and everything is working fine, do you wait until FSX loads (aircraft is sitting in the starting position) then go back into full screen? Are you running real world weather plus nighttime scenery plus a memory intensive commercial aircraft? If you have a 64 bit system which manages memory better, this shouldn't be happening. Are you overclocking the video card? If so that probably is the problem. I haven't seen this issue since going to Win 7 64 bit and have loaded memory intensive programs like real weather (ASA), LevelD767, flying over photo scenery and landing at dusk or at night. It's not your video card drivers but a memory or overclocking issue.Best regards,Jim
