  1. Thanks to all that responded. I'll try the hiding task bar trick.CheersMalcolm
  2. I have a twin screen setup, both being driven by a NVIDIA GeForce 8600 GTS. I have been flying using both screens to give one large wide screen. Because of overlay problems I've been running it in windowed mode. For some time this worked fine. However recently I found that frame rates were dropping to such a level that the sim was unusable. ( I was flying the Just Flight Constellation.)I was getting fractions of a frame per second. However, by accident, I came across a solution. By switching to full screen mode and then back to windowed mode everything suddenly became fine. I was getting good frame rates - at altitude sometimes up to 60fps.Obviously this solution works but I am curious to know if anyone has any idea as to why this happens?CheersMalcolm WrightMy computer is a Dell Vostro 400 with dual 2.66 CPU's. 6GB of main memory and two 500GB drives. I use XP Pro with SP3 installed. Two 22" monitors one Philips the other Dell.
  3. Daniel thanks for your help. The Oldmodules entry is[OLDMODULES]fssound.dll=1The Fssound.dll is dated 28/7/03. Is there a later one? If so any idea where I can get it from?Your tip about the booster switches was absolutely on the spot. Now I have control. This aircraft is certainly one of the most advanced I have seen, but I suspect that it is pushing FS9 as far - if not further - than it really wants to go. Still a lot to learn. It will help if I can get the APU running because at the moment it takes in excess of 5 minutes to start the engines using Ctrl-E. I've taken to saving a version with the engines running to save time.Again thanks for your help
  4. Many thanks for the hint about the boosters. I'll try them later today. As regards the other problem I have the OLDMODULES entry with the fsssound=1 so I don't think that could be the problem. Thanks anyway.:-)
  5. I'm also having trouble with the control system.I have disabled FS joystick control and set up the controls in the Joystick adjustment panel in the 154. However, whatever I do I cannot get any response from either Ailerons, Rudder or Elevator. I can get throttles and it will steer using nose wheel, however all other controls seem to be non existent. I've followed the instructions as best I can but no joy.Incidentally does anyone have a problem with gauges?I was getting a system hang when loading the 154 but removing gaugegauge05=154_B2_CP2!Copilot, 36,317,13,12from the panel config got the system loaded. I then got system hang when I access the engineers panel. Removinggauge78=154_B2_APU_1_3!RI, 239,483,91,91solved that problem, but I don't now seem to be able to start the APU (I have a registered version of FSPUIC.)Thanks
