    And I found the issue and it was my problem for sure.  I had an FS9 traffic file in the scenery/world/scenery folder that I had converted to FSX format however I forgot to delete the FS9 file.  It had disabled my traffic likely prior to me ever installing the DX10 fixer.  The MAIW models work now in DX9 again and in DX10 so far.  Now to experiment with settings and performance.  This is my first time with DX10.
