AS 6.5 and XGraphics
HiAs I know, AS 6.5 works fine with FSX but Active Sky Graphics doesn't. So, is it possible to "merge" those two applications? Of course, XGraphics will not send textures according to METAR and weather downloaded by ASX (as it does when working with ASX) but I would install (only once) my favourite weather theme into FSX and then quit XGraphics. Why do I want to do that? Well, ASX just drives me crazy during start up. It takes about 2-3 minutes before ASX is ready for inserting the flight briefing (DEP, ARR, FL, etc.).BTW - XGraphics copies textures (after I enter all data to the Brefiing) to FSX only once, right? It doesn't copy any textures when FSX is running?Best RegardsBart

I don't understand the frustrations with FSX
First of all sorry for my English (it's not my native language). For all of you, who say that FSX is so good: take in FSX Keikira LGKR airport in Greece. Look at http://www.airliners.net/ for real photos and compare it to what we see in FSX. Where is that beautiful approach from the sea?Next, change the camera view and look at LGKR from above. Look at the coast line. Very impresing stright lines ;) Most of small islands look like triangles or squares. Ok, forget it for a moment. Lets go to LOWI Innsbruck. Take fall as a season. Look at the mountains. Those are Alps right? So what those ugly (looking like sand) textures are doing on the mountain's peaks. The same textures we see all around (look at LIRF).Forget it one more time and go to Poland. Across the country flows realy big river Vistula. Not in FSX. For some reason there is no river Vistula in FSX;) I'm not saying FSX is bad. I'm aware and I understand that hardware requirements are bigger that in FS2004 but...how MS could make such errors in sceneries and textures? Europe during fall doesn't look like desert. You are saying that water is beautiful, that the sky and clouds look great. But such effects one can see in old IL-2 Sturmovik simulator. In IL-2 even clouds drop shadows on the ground. So, don't tell me that FSX is so great. It is good, has some new features but in my opinion FSX was released far too early with a lot of bugs which we have to correct by ourselves (all of those tweaks) or wait for add-ons (and pay again to see FSX looking as it should look).Best Regards

ICS + random startup mode question
konraf replied to WebMaximus's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumIn my opinion all clouds should work like ICS system. It would go like this:1. start ASV2. enter your flight plan (or only dep. and arr. airport, FL, etc.)3. ASV starts to process all those informations, downloads METAR and aplies all...all clouds, sky, enviro., etc. to FS, according (and to fit it best) to weather conditions (it picks the best sets - sky, cloud, enviro. - for present weather conditions).Now...if I'm not wrong, ASV aplies only cirrius clouds. Sky and environment are randomly pick (and that random mode has nothing to do with present weather conditions). Just random selection.

ICS + random startup mode question
konraf replied to WebMaximus's topic in The AS16 and ASCA | Active Sky | Active Sky Next | XPAX Support ForumHiWell, I do it a little bit different and AS works great.According to the manual one should run AS before FS, in paused mode, enter flight plan (DEP, ARR, FL, SPD, etc.) and press Process. Then run FS and AS will unpause. That is maybe ok but as you noticed, in that case clouds will be from the last FS session. So what do I do? I do everything as above except one thing. When I enter my flight plan and process it, I press Refresh button. AS still stays paused (FS not detected) but I see text scrolling within the AS window showing that new clouds set are being aplied to FS. When it is done I start FS, AS goes active. In that way I always have new textures in every FS session. My only problem for now is that I didn't see those auto generated and auto updated during FS session cirrius clouds. When should they be visible?
