  2. Ok, so here is where I am with this problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled FSX to a folder of its own on my F: drive. Found and deleted the FSX.cfg file. Disabled user account controls and tried running FSX as an administrator. The problem still continues. Any other ideas that might fix this problem? Thanks
  3. Here is the event log from the problem report:Problem Event Name: APPCRASHApplication Name: fsx.exeApplication Version: 10.0.60905.0Application Timestamp: 44fd0a92Fault Module Name: ntdll.dllFault Module Version: 6.0.6002.18327Fault Module Timestamp: 4cb7341cException Code: 80000003Exception Offset: 00010004OS Version: 6.0.6002.2.2.0.768.3Locale ID: 1033Additional Information 1: ed42Additional Information 2: d67a8df53cb923b26bc4c2dfc836c8ebAdditional Information 3: 641cAdditional Information 4: 720853abbcf4acd327975e9172425edcFSX crashes before it can build a cfg file.
  4. That is the folder that I looked in. The cfg file is not in there at this time. I think that it part of the problem.
  5. Thanks for the reply. I have looked in the app data folder for the FSX.cfg file. There is not a file in the folder. FSX will build scenery database then quit afterwards.
  6. Hello everyone,I recently tried to reinstall FSX. When FSX starts up, I get an error message that windows has a problem and is shutting down. I ran FSX on this computer without any problem. Anyone know of a possible solution for this problem? Thanks,John
  7. Fixed it. Thanks for the help.
  8. Hello,Hopefully someone can help me. I just purchased the MD-11 yesterday. When I load Fs2004, all I get on the main panel are green x's. I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the package with no luck. Searching through the forum, I have seen other users with the same problem and have tried their fixes with out any luck. Hopefully someone will be able to help me. I am running Vista 64 home premium if it helps. Thanks,John Regan
  9. It will get to the point where the bar goes from left to right then shuts down. I will try a hard drive when I get time to get to the store. Thanks,John
  10. Thanks Chris. Only thing that puzzles me is that the last time I booted up the computer, the hard drive was not connected. It was only booting off of the windows recovery disk then it shuts down. Take the hard drive out of play and it still shuts down on its own. This is why I am leaning towards a bad motherboard. Thanks,John
  11. Just another question. The computer will boot using a windows recovery disk (hard drive not even connected) but shuts down after making a selection from the installiation menu. Any other ideas? I am going to replace the hard drive with another and try to load windows to it.Thanks,John
  12. Just an update. Changed out the power supply for a higher rated (250w to 430w) thermaltake power supply. Using a recovery disk, it will boot to the install screen then it shuts down. The next step will be a new motherboard. Ram checked out correctly. Any other ideas?
  13. Did some of the tips on that thread. I think I have narrowed it down to a bad power supply. I will buy one this weekend and give it a try. Thanks for all of the help.John
  14. Thank you for the advice. I will give it a try and let you know later how it goes.John
  15. I can not even get the computer to boot into safe mode. When it tries to load crcdisk it shutdowns on its own. I am out of ideas about this problem.
