@BIGSKY Well don't run PMDG bloatware then 😄 You can't expect to max out the latest game when it's full of addons no matter what it is, there will always be compromise as it's built to account for future hardware. I run 1440p for that exact reason, rather than 4K, that's my compromise.

The aircraft visual models are done very differently which nets a performance gain whilst looking better, so if new models are developed using those techniques rather than a simple legacy port the only area left for major performance loss will be the gauges.

If this sim runs at 60 fps at 4K and looks like this, on anything less than a 16 core CPU, overclocked to 5.5 Ghz on liquid, with 2x SLi'd 2080 Tis.... I will eat my PC.... bit by byte.

As nice as it is (with spark plug fouling etc), £28 in a sale is still a lot for a GA single piston prop with questionable night lighting!

You can get the A2A 180 for £33 and then you get Accusim, some customisation and maintenance, walkaround etc.

JustFlight do let you try a free demo though.

The final straw was the total silence and censorship over a certain FS software company that did a really bad thing a few months back. I only come here occasionally and I certainly won't be donating as it no longer feels 'home'.

I have thought about donating to Avsim several times over the past 12 months but every time I'm about to do so, Avsim does something that I feel I cannot condone, much less give money too. Avsim can run their site however they like but recently they seem to have been driving people away and it gas certainly pushed me to visit other FS sites in-lieu. Avsim was a must visit for their news and articles but they seem to have dried up in recent years too. As others have said, it just "doesn't feel like home any more" although I am greatly appreciative of the service it provided for many years.
